Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I did say sprint wink it is normally a nice clear and empty bit of autoroute particularly if that is what is between you and a ferry crossing or longer stop.

I always find it a massive contrast to our UK roads I am about to go on or have just come from!

We've done the trip to Tignes twice and are doing it again next Easter. First time we stayed near Reims and this year we stayed near Troyes. The Troyes hotel was pretty good so we have booked there again and given its Good Friday and a public holiday we are getting an earlier Shuttle (or planning to) so getting to Troyes wont be so bad. Hotel we are staying at is Hôtel Akena Troyes - La Chapelle St-Luc

@FrediKanoute, Troyes is well worth a look around. Get there early and have dinner in the old quarter.
@Skiyeah, Though getting to the tunnel in England is only 1/4 of the whole distance to Les Arcs it is 3/4 of the hassle.

@Tordi, I live 15 mins from the Tunnel, near Ashford. If you need a pit stop you are welcome to call in.
