Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Virgin
do
fly to Santiago... the catch is that (a) there are two Santiago airports; and (b) non-stop and direct mean slightly different things. So to my knowledge BA (my least favourite airline) are the only company with a direct flight from the UK to SCL. Virgin requires one stop on the way. BA's first class return cost was the same as a week's heliskiing. Inedible food and sleeping in a chair plus more heli time seemed like a better use of money.
As someone pointed out - this was low-tide snow wise, the storm which we saw the front of came in and dumped rather more snow on the lower altitudes there, I believe. As @Mike previously suggested, maybe very late season is safer. It was pretty easy to stitch stuff together just before this trip, so if you're doing it yourself you can always wait and see. If you're doing resorts in Chile then they're near enough to cities that you're not going to find they're "full up" in general (Portillo may be an exception to that).
Wreckless Eric... I'd forgotten about him, but stumbled across a Guraniaud review recently, and he's still going. I now have a double remastered FLAC "Big Smash" of his... I'm trying to see if I like any of the rest of it. The dynamic range on the original isn't great for video, so I had to remember how to use Davinci Resolve's audio keyframing.
The heli folk here were:
https://heliskiguides.com/.
They are affiliated with other small heli operators.. none of them have trees. They're in interesting places... across the Whole Wide World.
