Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Yes, it's inevitable that within 6 weeks, the big melt is going to start.
Hopefully it is going to be a mild slow melt, not hot temperatures all of a sudden and then large floodings.

Strange as it may seem, unfortunately all this snow is yet another sign of climate change.
Climate change, leads to higher frequency and impact of extreme weather. That goes 2 sides:
- Warm and dry (like last 5 years in western US)
- Warm and humid (like this winter)

The weather pattern that causes all this snow is worrying.
It is called an atmospheric river. A coming-and-going of large water-laden depressions for months on end.
Just like the extreme floudings of 2021 in NL (Valkenburg), Ardennes and Eiffel. Jut like the Loire river in FR, totally dry in summer 2022.

Weather patterns that used to move with the jetstream in EU, now the jetstream slows down and areas of low pressure (summer 2021) and high pressure (summer 2022) remain in 1 spot for weeks on end. Where they used to move along nicely, would pass in 2-3 days, instead of now 2-3 weeks.

And just like the big flooding events in the west of the UK eg. Storm Desmond. Long fetch saturated tropical air condensing out on the Lake District, western Pennines, Snowdonia and the southern uplands.
