My son has come up from Geneva to Val d’Isere this afternoon in a SnowDrone transfer without any drama.
(Apart from about 25 people not having the correct PCR tests at Manchester)
Police checkpoints to make sure everyone had snow chains, cars weren’t allowed past if they couldn’t prove they had them.
Another checkpoint insisted chains were fitted unless the vehicle had 4 wheel drive which it did. |
Did you mean they took antigen? I thought antigen is allowed in France?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Flying in to Geneva you need a PCR

Just arrived in Tignes. As @rob@rar says, the roads were pretty empty. I was fortunate to be able to rent a BMW 4WD, so didn't need snow chains.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@alvinsu, Yes they all took antigen tests (and some NHS PCR’s) as they were “going to France” on holiday, but as they were flying to Geneva/Switzerland they required a paid for PCR.
Around 20-30 passengers were put to the side at the gate as they didn’t have the correct tests. They were all denied boarding and most had managed to check in bags so the whole aircraft was delayed while these were off loaded, delaying the rest of the passengers, take off slot missed ..
EasyJet incompetence at Manchester.

We also made it to Tignes at around 1.30am last night, after leaving GVA at 10.30pm! We found the road between Bourg St Maurice and Les Arc to be okay by that point but there were a few squeaky bum moments between Les Arcs and Val Claret, luckily our snow tyres handled it well compared to a few others that started getting stuck on the descent up towards Tignes 2100. Very pleased we made it last night and hoping the weather is ok to get on the slopes today!

Travelled up 7am this morning from Albertville. Two wheel drive with winters was fine. Snow covered road from the Tignes dam up to Val Claret but all perfectly manageable. Safe journeys everybody.

Drove from Chambéry to Peisey this morning leaving at 10.00. Roads were clear and quite, but has been snowing steadily for the last couple of hours.
