Comparing my old EHIC/new GHIC side-by-side they are actually exactly the same bar the words and swapping the (cheap printed) EU/UK logo for the (needlessly more exspensive) UK hologram. Flip the card over and they still share the same background image (a grid on the left/wavey lines on the right) though the new card looks a little blue-er - but that could just be the old one having faded over time.

Actually just spotted a difference!
The contact number's the same but the hours are now 8-6, rather than just the 8-5 on the old EHIC.
