Poster: A snowHead

@VolklAttivaS5, Speaking of Icicle, I see Kingsley is still using the pictures my guide took when I was last there - must be 10 years ago...
It's the montage of 4 pics with me and another guy who's name was Frank I think. I'm yellow helmet. We had good weather! Lovely granite climbing and bolted belays which I always liked.

In the background of this one you can see where a huge lump fell off Les Drus that year - the clean grey patch above and to the left of Frank's head. An Alpine hazard!

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

@red 27, you looked like you had fun 10 years ago

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@VolklAttivaS5, you know what I was thinking about this earlier today and I realised that I forgot to mention that I have a pair of Kenkoh sandals that I wear in the house - as you say, very important and helpful

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@red 27, ah! Yes they are invaluable.
I had to walk along pavement 2 miles to the hairdressers today as my van wouldn’t start this morning so guess what? It was back-once I got home again after at least 4 miles walking on a hard surface. Not enough support in the shoes I was wearing clearly!
So the Birkenstocks are back on again at home.

Freezing a plastic bottle full of water and rolling your bare foot over it helps to relive it a bit.

@Deedee, it does. My foot roller is nice but it’s not cold.

I think that while the Birks will alleviate the symptoms, it sounds like you still need to be persistent and patient with contnuning to treat the underlying cause via the Str&Str regime.
you know this already I think...

@red 27, yes I will continue with the exercises as they aren’t a bad thing to be doing either way.
I’ve ordered some footbeds to go in my trainers too so when I do go to the gym
I don’t then suffer from the lack of support.

Have a read up about shockwave therapy for plantar fasciitis.

I had that too, 6 sessions, although it was a bit of a struggle to get Vitality to pay for it.
I had that funny tape put on too - didn't rate that tbh
It certainly didn't do me any harm and I think probably helped a bit in conjunction with the stretching and strengthening

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@VolklAttivaS5, I had a mild case a few years back, and wearing them certainly helped mine.

I seem to be ok now
The Birkenstocks made the biggest difference and also that calf stretch where you cross your leg in front then do the stretch.
I did an 8.3km walk all on pavement on Wed afternoon and no ill effects.
I had gel inserts in those trainers just from the supermarket nothing fancy and that helps on the heels for sure..
