Kronplatz making snow again. They are determined to have everything open and ready to go come January.
Corvara are also making snow though their upper runs must have exceeded their target depths by now.

Also saw snowmaking on the Seiseralm webcams earlier. And also saw a few lifts running across the Dolimites with a few slopes open. Not sure if this was for locals or maybe ski clubs?

Perfect pre Christmas conditions once again thanks to a combination of 100% snow making coverage and the Adriatic depression bringing snow from the south. They don’t need to worry about snow cover this year. Looks good right down to 935m. They may well be able to open all 1,200kms of the Super Dolomiti from day 1 but I imagine the customer demand may not be there?

GEFS model showing some snow around Christmas Eve and then like the UK a cool down after that. Such a pity to be missing such good snow and skiing conditions.

Saslong looking good on Eurosport for the Downhill. Indeed, whole looking good. Pity we may not see it this year

You definitely won't, as the company which runs the lifts there has decided not to open them this season.

True, but as the lift company won't be operating they won't be piste bashing the slopes they are responsible for either...

Is that all the lifts in the Selva/San Christina area? effectively closing the Sella Ronda, or are the lifts up to Passo Gardina run by a different Company?
An unpisted Sasslong might make very interesting skiing. I can just imagine the size of some of the Moguls that might build up
It may be irrelevant in the current situation anyway, as looking more and more unlikely the Birthday bash will happen in it's usual format.

Great idea. Worth it to get an unpisted run.

@brianatab, after a bit of googling it looks like Funivie Saslong S.p.a. who are not operating this season, run the Sochers Hotel and the Saslong and presumably the Sochers lifts . Ciampinoi, Monte Pana, Gherdeina Ronda and Col Raiser (maybe) are separate companies I think, but you can't find out who owns what lifts exactly.
This was interesting, via Dun & Bradstreet

So if it is only the Saslong, Sochers-Ciampinoi and Sochers lifts and pistes not operating then the Sella Ronda will be good and buses for Col Raiser, Seceda and Ortisei.

@brianatab, See my post here - https://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=153272&start=40 - bottom of page
I think the Saslong company only control the lifts up the Saslong side of the mountain : You don't need the Saslong slope to do the 'Ronda'
However getting to Seceda and Ortesei may mean using the Valley Bus service

@albob, You could take the run down from Piz Sella, get the bus and go via Alp di Suisa, then drop down into Ortesei.
Good day out. Did it on my first Birthday Bash. Got the bus back to San Christina, but you might have to go up to Selva this year.

Yes looked nice earlier on the webcams, stopped for now. Lot more to

Corvara is now recording a pisted depth of 160cm on the upper slopes and 105cms on the lower slopes. More than double the amount they need to last this season. Another top up is forecast at the weekend.

@albob, looks good. Tree lined, west facing, rollercoasterish, 310m vertical drop over 1110m, max 52% slope and a name which translates to ‘stroppy’. A snowHeads’ favourite surely?

Looks like a good reason to allocate a bit more time to double back on the Danterceptes lift and take in all the runs.
