@Peter S, I managed (finally) to make sense of all of that, and I'm now super excited to see it may be open this year (assuming we get to ski it) and also hoping they put snowmaking in!

I have still not managed to work out what they are really doing about the piste down the line of the old Dantercepies lift. Will it be in addition to Cir or will it be a re-route of Cir?
I feel there is a need to go and research in person as soon as possible, all in the interest of providing information you understand

@SteveM, I’m more like ‘landing gently’ after falling over at the bottom of Saslong ... twice!

@SteveM, there's a black straight down the hill marked on the bergfex.com map

@HutToHut, good spot! It does indeed seem to branch off from Cir and then just follow the straight line of the old lift. Makes me think it will be a bit boring compared to the nice curves and changes enjoyed along Cir especially you follow it all the way down to Ciampac hut.

I did see discussions elsewhere about the route of new black run. It was either on alpinforum or skiforum.it. Maybe worth a look.

I don't think I could justify buying the gondola for home use..... but it surely can't be that old. I remember them putting it in and building the "new" bottom lift station as it meant they demolished "Toni's Bar" which was one of my favourites on a dreich afternoon when we were staying in Olang

.Lovely run down there ...I hope they put better signposts up......you are never quite sure which run you are going down ...The old gondola was quite slow , but very relaxing.

Crikey. If that closes Val Gardena then the Sella Ronda is closed.
I don't know if other areas will still plan to open but it could actually lead to more relaxed skiing for all the other areas without the rush of people doing the Sella Ronda.

@olderscot, I think Dantercepies, Ciampinoi and Saslong are three separate companies.

Yes, I wasn't sure who ran what bit and couldn't work out which lifts this would hit. I'd definitely be surprised if one of the sella ronda companies decided not to open off their own back.

Dantercepies/Saslong were operating this AM, presumably because of the DownHill :

Does anyone know which lifts the company Funivie Saslong operates? It looks like the Funivie Saslong company has a difference of opinion with the other lift operators Val Gardena and Alpe di Suisi as to whether to operate this season, Google translate of part of their statement ""We highlighted that the risk was that of weighing down the hospitals of Bolzano and Bressanone, but we were not heard - they continue - Saslong wants to completely dissociate itself from the Val Gardena Alpe di Siusi cableway operators consortium due to its lack of sensitivity towards the hard price paid by all the doctors, nurses, volunteers who with their passionate, professional and exemplary sacrifice have allowed all of us to be able to talk about purely venal and individualistic things ".

I did try to find out but didn't have much luck. From what I've read of the Sella Ronda area it's quite a patchwork of lift companies, but no idea of how much disruption the temporary suspension of Funivie Saslong lifts might cause.

I think its the hotel Funivie Spa that won't open
|
|
|
|
|

I do hope its only the hotel, otherwise I think they own most of the lifts around Selva

Reading the Google translation of the anouncement by Funivie Saslong that seems to be exactly what has happened - one of the lift companies has decided not to operate this season and they are critical of the other lift companies which have decided to operate. Who has made the right judgement call is of course a matter of, well, judgement....
