This forum within Snowheads is headed Ski Club of Great Britain so surely as long as this situation continues, then it is perfectly reasonable to discuss SCGB matters here.
If Goldsmith wants to be so negative about the ski club, and despite his protestations to the contrary most of his ski club threads do give the club a negative image, there of those of us who will give an alternative view. If someone wants to post an opinion on a public message board, then it is not unreasonable to respond.
Perhaps it's time for Snoweads to drop it's SCGB forum but Goldsmith won't like that.
In case you are not aware, he comes up with the same old nonsense on the SCGB board as well.

richjp, I agree with you that this is the forum to discuss matters related to SCGB. Tthe trouble is, rather than have a discussion about the SCGB, these threads seem to end up as personally motivated slanging matches and nothing to do with the original titles. If it is a fight that they want, then they should do that elsewhere, that is all I was commenting on.
As to whether there is still a need for this separate forum, well my 2000th post started a thread called "drop the dead wood" or something like that, as I don't think there is a need.

I was considering re-joining the SCGB but your attitude displayed in this thread does indeed confirm the stereotypical SCGB member and therefore I will not be re-joining.

Tim Brown, I interpreted boredsurfin's comments as meaning that you are a poor image of the club that you try to defend. You may not put me off joining, but then, I am more stupid than boredsurfin.

I left the SCGB sometime ago and Tim has stated exactly the reverse of my thoughts on the SCGB. Or The ski club as 'they' instruct us to call it now. The forum in it's present state does nothing to enhance the clubs appeal. (Although not a member I still have the odd visit when a friend logs on.) |
You wrote this back in December of last year. But NOW you'll have us believe you were, in fact, today, a few month later, thinking of re-joining! Sorry, I don't believe you. I don't think you had any intention of re-joining, you just took the opportunity to have a go at the SCGB.

Actually I was thinking of re-joining because someone mentioned that the club offers ski insurance and as you have no doubt read in a previous post I am not too sure about my current insurers off piste policy definition.
