Stayed in CM @ VdI last year. Breakfast you need to be wearing proper clothes, no sleeping attire. Lunch - taking boots and jacket off is required for indoor eating (where the best food is). Evenings - look on the CM website - there is suggested a suggested theme for each night. You may need an extra suitcase for your outfits...

That sounds like runs ashore when skiing with Royal Marines.
Since many believe that fishnets also make excellent thermals, that is also a breakfast sight never to be scrubbed from the brain...

I feel old.
I'd thought "slamming" was hip street talk for a rather lively party.
CM probably calls it "Le Soiree Claquent" and have a matching JPG dress code...

@Chuckles3, age has nothing to do with it. No one should be in pajamas at breakfast

Does "egregious" mean "flopping all over the place"?

Doesn't this all depend on how cold it is?

@Nadenoodlee, I was trying to be diplomatically polite in the face of, what I thought, was a fairly obvious answer to the question. Leave the PJ’s to the bedroom

Clearly all of you who are commenting about the PJs have never stayed in a chalet! Perfectly normal!!! |
I've stayed in chalets lots. I've seen a few people at breakfast in pjs, but only when we've had a chalet as sole occupancy so all knew each other. I'd not expect it when sharing with people I don't know. I just pop jeans and a top on.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Personally, I don't think wearing PJs at breakfast is acceptable whether you're in a hotel or a chalet - if you want to wear PJs, get an apartment. |
I agree. Ghastly behaviour.

I've been to Austrian hotels where ties are compulsory at dinner but clothes of any description are forbidden in the (thermal) spa.
Breakfast was usually a compromise between those two extremes

Ha I wear my thermals for brekkie in a chalet - BUT i will add a caveat - they are running leggings, and a long sleeve base layer, so exactly what I wear wear out and about in public anyway. In a Chalet Hotel I wore jeans for brekkie

Good thread(s).
I think females in thermals / PJs are less likely to cause offence than males for the reason @Lucywuk mentions above
I recall a shared chalet in Reberty where fellow guests included a family of 4. Mater, Pater and 2 strapping sons aged 17 and 19. Nice people.
One bluebird powder day morning we were all up early for first lift and it was evident in the most obvious manner that the youngest son - clad only in tight white thermals - had been (a)roused from a sweet dream... As I was slicing the morning baguette Mother belatedly noticed the issue and ushered him upstairs to address it (I know not how). He returned after 5 minutes looking sheepish and wearing his skiing trousers.
Hopefully this has been helpful to the OP although it wasn't a Mark Warner property.
