Light dusting of snow overnight, slight cloud first thing which lifted and gave us a glorious sunny day, bit warmer than I'd like, but far less busy.
Drop in temp still forecast for the rest of the week.

Today started off cold with little breeze, but a fringe of cloud over Monte Bianco and down the Aosta valley. By noon we had full cloud cover and poor light ( after the bluebird days so far this week) cloud did open up slightly after 2. Pistes remained in good condition due to the low temps. Forecast still shows cloud and some snow for tomorrow.

A fresh dusting of snow at Plan Checruit and a few cms higher up overnight. Sub zero temperatures all day again, mix of sunshine and clould early on, total white out by 1pm, clouds lifted on and off again slightly throughout the afternoon.

Can any Courmayeur regulars give me the low down on restaurants, both in town and on the mountain? Looking for ones at the nicer end of the spectrum rather than cheap and cheerful, but it’s for a guys weekend so not too quiet/romantic if that makes sense. Also any apres tips appreciated.
Thanks!

Chiecco on the hill and la Terazza in town would be the ones which come to mind. Tunnel pizza was cheaper in town but still very nice.

On the mountain Maison Vieille is number one choice, and Chateau Branlant (near Cheiccos drag). Also Capitan des Alpes over on Zerotta side

You know it makes sense.

@nbt, I’ve never eaten at Maison Vieille, but from its menu I don’t see what’s to get excited about.
Chiecco however, is quite splendid, if a tad eccentric.

Maison Vielle has lost it!! Way too much hype and commercialism!!
There's a rather pleasant piste side eatery half way down the piste to Zerrotta from pre de pascal, lovely view of Monte Bianco. (Fodze)
Half decent (but DON'T go if busy) at the bottom of the Zerrotta piste (left hand side) that char-grills pork ribs. (La Capitan)
Otherwise be careful of the on-mountain restaurants, just because they're living on past reputation! (I've been skiing Courmayeur a very long time, and seen the good, bad, and dodgy).
In town the Bar Roma is a must. And take your choice of the Pizzarias. Out of town try the pizzeria by the Val Veny lift station.

@under a new name, I don't really look for an interesting menu, I look for really nice well cooked food. The pizzas at Maison Vieille are good, which is all I want. It is bloody crowded at time though I will admit

In La Thuile from Wednesday and we're interested in a day trip to Courmayeur - does anyone have any experience of it over Easter weekend? We fly back on Monday, so would possibly give it a miss if it's traditionally very busy.

Went one week ago (Wed of last week). Amazing amazing weather (that's been rare). Runs were not overly full and there was some very nice off piste off of Cresta Youla. Really want to find a way to head over there soon for an extended trip. Lots of off piste, beautiful views of Mont Blanc and easy access to La Thuile and, if you want, Pila.
