Take a look at this. It's a CSIA level 4 mock 'ski off'. GS type turns from CSIA level 3 passed candidates, training / practicing at level 4 standards / tempo's.
Now within here, there's various ski width stances, both consistent and variable ( during the turn ). See if you can see who either loses a ski , stumbles, catches an edge etc and come to your own conclusion. Spot the L/R asymmetric's i.e angulated vs banking , really though, this video is posted here for stance width comparison.

Looking at it, kid should be shouted at for nearly skiing into someone downhill of them... but it was clear from earlier on that the kid was going to do something random.
Not, I must say, the most impressive of skiing - any of them. For top level certs I'd expect better (and any CSIA instructor I've skied with or seen has been).

These are training for level 4 standard. At some time previously, all have passed level 3 standard which is requirement to take part in level 4 training.

ST = short turns and that terrain is choppy - some do a very good job, all doing their best, on a tricky surface doing what they're asked to do i.e short turns..

Not top level certs, all good skiers ( passing L3 at some past time but ,with some errors / technique hiccups caught on camera i'll grant you ), to very very good skiers imo.

@T_Hee, what I meant was for folks who are aiming at a top level cert (and have passed L3) I wasn't most impressed.

@under a new name, well, there's always a 'range' of abilities within any set level. At Hemel i see refresher courses for BASI 3's and ISIA's. Within these for some ... of course, it's very easy to think this.

Kid was ahead - clearly seen in an earlier frame. Jackass was so focused on his turn and line he had tunnel vision and therefore neglected his primary responsibility to avoid other slope users. Should be an automatic fail for the course for me. His only let out is if kid had stopped then set out into his path without looking uphill.
