@denfinella, great reference document. I missed it the first time round, but can offer up that GoMassif from Geneva to Samoens/Morillon/Les Carroz/Flaine is all €42.50 per person per trip, one way.
You will definitely make life easier for yourself if you put it on Google Drive and then issue a read only link to the document! Just shout if you need help with making that happen.

Update: table now available online (see first post for link - thanks sj).
I've added a few more resorts / companies, mostly close to Geneva. If I haven't added a company that you've suggested, there's probably a reason for it - see the first post for criteria for inclusion in the table. I realise there's a heavy French bias in current coverage - that's just because I'm more familiar with the French Alps so started there.

@denfinella, amazing work. Many thanks and huge appreciation for your time and the attention invested.
It is a reference item for every trip my guys are planning, we would like to build you a statue. Ski dressed and riding a horse. It's more impressive on a horse, but you will probably be on very short skis for we are against animal cruelty.
So maybe no horse.

Lyon airport (Altibus) to any of the Maurienne Valley resorts is 115 euros return during February (possibly other peak dates), and 99 euros non peak.

@drporat, thanks, hope it saves you a bit of hassle / cash!
@mikeycharlton, yes, some really cheap routes available, if you can get a flight there. Re. the Lyon Altibus routes, do you have a link to a webpage with a fares table? Otherwise it'll be difficult to update for each new season.

@denfinella,
Not a table as such, but I just played around with all the ski resort destinations by clicking on them individually and they all came up with the same price. €115 peak, 99€ off peak.

Have I missed something??
It is possible to get to many resorts in the Alps (Austria,Switzerland) by train direct from Airports even from Airports as far away as Amsterdam ..

@stanton, you're correct of course. But the sheer number of combinations of fares, routes and start points make it impractical to put train transfers into the table.

I've updated the table with 2018/19 prices, and added / removed new or discontinued routes offered by the transfer companies already shown in the table. I haven't, however, added any new transfer companies yet (so Austria and Switzerland in particular are still very under-represented!).
Generally ticket prices have stayed about the same for the new season or increased slightly; a few in Italy have actually become cheaper.
I plan to add a column for all the resorts directly accessible by train.

Something is going on in the car supply market meaning that car hire is now stupidly cheap across Europe. Even if there's only one of you it's.often cheaper than a transfer. If.theres more than one it's.a no brainer.....

@cameronphillips2000, I agree (for 2 people anyway) that this can often be the case, especially hiring from Italy. Even I've started hiring a car more than using transfer companies - though remember you have to factor in fuel, tolls and probably excess insurance.
However I'd already created the spreadsheet last year and thought I may as well update it!

@denfinella, you are of course right. Add the price of covered parking in places like Val Thorens, Tignes or Verbier.
Shared transfers are many times the better option, thanks for updating.

Jan 2019's version has an easier to read colour scheme and (more usefully) all resorts with a train station in France, Italy & Austria have been added. Switzerland is on the to-do list.
Train fares haven't been included for obvious reasons.

I’ve used Ben’s bus from Grenoble to Alpe d’Huez, excellent service and great value, good communication. I would happily use them again

Thanks. Just not keen on the policy where they don't refund or get you on the next bus if you're delayed

Fair point, however we were in a massive queue to get through Grenoble passport control and there was a chance we would miss our scheduled transfer, agent on the ground made regular contact and offered transfer to following bus, although in the end we did make it, perhaps the t&c’s are to cover all eventualities but in reality they are more flexible.

@misternesty, they do get you on the next bus if there's space, unless the T&Cs have changed in the last few years. Happened to us with the Grenoble to Alpe d'Huez bus. (Obviously they can't do that if it's already full!)

Thanks guys. Its just I've read some nasty reviews so it got me a little worried. Its helpful to know they will try to accommodate on next bus

@burjacenko, there are literally loads. from about €200 each way for a basic minibus from a transfer company on upward in cost & comfort (I imagine the sky is the limit).
My missus has a number of a Cham based cab company who have nice Merc/VW multiseat cabs and who have (as well as general jobs around Chx) done us a decent price (about €500 from memory) to Annecy and back for the fireworks, so I imagine they'ld be decent (and comfy) for a GVA run. When she comes in I'll grab the details and PM them to you.
Otherwise: Alpybus, ChamVan, Mountain Drop Offs, etc, etc.

@Hornblower62, personally I would hire and drive it. Selva isn't too far off the Autostrada and it's a flat road. Otherwise look at companies like Four Seasons https://www.tirol-taxi.at as they are always in/out of Munich - or ask your accommodation to recommend a local. In my experience taxi firms in the Dolomites charge more.

@denfinella, Hi, is the transfer table still available, I can't seem to find it. Thanks

@sussexmartlet, thanks - I'll look at adding this to the next update.
@Terrymoore99 sorry, should now be available again! For some reason the URL had changed, so I've now updated the link. Can someone confirm it's working again?
I'll get round to updating the table for this season in due course, however a lot of the transfer companies are very sluggish in updating info for the new season, so it makes sense to wait a bit. Anyone wanting info in the meantime can still use last year's prices as a guide.
