Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ok, thanks! Just watching the map, tux seems to be the more crowded area? Would that be a good choice if we dont want to stay in a total ghost Town? =)

@staffsan, There are a few hotels next to the Hintertux gondola station. However, I would look to stay in Hintertux village. 1km down the road, walkable along the road, or a path along the river, in 10mins. There is also a free bus.
In the village there are some hotels, also, some guesthouses - Kössler is nice, as is Tuxerstüberl, and a few apartments.
The advantage of staying there is that it is walking distance to the Hohenhaus Tenne bar... And a visit to the Tenne bar is compulsory Apres Ski!
Tux, which is the village of Lanersbach has a lot more choice of accommodation and restaurants, but is a bus ride away from the lift - maybe 10-15mins. by bus? Something like that.

Lanersbach is the place to stay id say as its near to the glacier and the village is the biggest between Mayrhofen and tux. Nothing in tux itself
