@hawkesbaynz, That sounds great. I have spent a couple of weeks with Evo 2 in Tignes. Mickey's Ears down to Lac de Chevril with the heli pick up was great fun, my favourite run is probably Face de Lavachet - my guide Eric Lafargue was superb . I hope you get some great conditions and lots of powder!

Generally courses convene in Leysin and then different areas are skied each day.
Only note of caution if its ski technique you particular want then Ism tends to be more biased to touring skills and avalanche awareness.

As the OP I thought I would advise that I have gone for the Marmalade Introduction to Off Piste Camp toward the end of January ... the dates and location are good for me and I have had good experiences with Marmalade. Hopefully the course will give me the platform to build on.

The SCGB fresh-tracks holidays are very good - but don't choose Val or Chamonix - the Flaine trip is the best. Yann Westercamp is a great guide and an excellent instructor. The Flaine trip usually has a good mix of learners and improvers, without big ego's. It's very unlikely that your chosen week will have powder, but the guides are good at finding the best snow.

I've been on the All mountain development course in Chamonix with Freshtracks run by Rachel kirr, it was exceptional, my 1st real off piest coaching experience and would highly recommended it

Hi All, just to wrap this up, I have just returned from a Ski Marmalade “Introduction to Off-Piste” week at Meribel, this was great fun and in the good company of nine like minded skiers. We were split into groups after day one, with instructors Nick and Fillipo, both were skilled and understanding. The mix of on-Piste vs off-Piste was probably 75:25, with time on the piste spent improving skills.
We stayed together in a Ski Hame chalet in Les Allues.
My original target had been to get the skills to not embarrass myself with my mates who ski off piste; I stayed over after the course with friends who ski off piste and did not disgrace myself, so a week well spent.
I shall probably post a more detailed Trip report soon.

Glad you enjoyed it. I did a couple of morning with Ski Marmalade a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it....... though the Grand Couloir was a bit of a leg wobbler
