@Harrison the Rabbit, thankfully it is. The storm is continuing for the rest of today so the search for more cod-related articles will continue for now...

Fortunately things haven't got to the point of needing the history of cod to keep us amused...although I guess it's pretty short: gets born, swims a bit, gets caught, hung out to dry for 6 months, done.
Firstly a hangover from 2 nights ago as the storm rolled in on the horizon.

Staring at the lodge dog...

...or staring at each other (the lodge is pretty sweet).
We finished things off by sitting in the sauna (which overlooks the view in photo 1 from today) and jumping in the arctic. It was quite cold.

A highlight though was offpisteskiing's presentation on his trip to Baffin Island last year that he did for everyone last night. Some inspirational stuff and well worth seeing if he decides to sneak it in again at a mountain festival near you.

@Sharkymark, sounds like a nice way of spending a down day, but I can't pretend I'm not disappointed by the absence of fish news.

Right, forget the fish. Today we were back on it. Finally the storm has blown out and a change in wind direction is bringing colder weather and brighter skies. We weren't expecting much given it had rained to summits for 48 hours. However, as we left the car park at Runtind it started puking.

The summit ridge was wind scoured so metal work was required to reach the top after a 700m skin. It was a classic Lofoten weather day with rain, snow, wind, sun all in the space of a few hours. Temperatures ranged between -2 or so and +4 deg C. The snow was surprisingly good: our theory being that it's fairly heavy (maritime snow pack) and a protective rain crust existed 30cm or so down. Remarkably, it was only approaching unsupported porridge at 200m or so.

That view.
An hour before this photo was taken it was bright sun and warm, when this photo was taken it was neither of those things, 5 mins after this photo was take it was a grapul whiteout.
Epic day. Again.

It was another quadruple dip today as offpisteskiing or, we should call him by his alias, the Powfinder General, has mentioned so just got round to a report.
We'll start at the end: it was EPIC. Back to the start: skin from the car next to a beach with that view.

offspisteskiing surveys plan A (the couloir centre). Let's call the location 'Unicorn Bowl Y' for now.

Plan A didn't quite work out but plan B had rather a nice view accompanied by 2 pairs of sea eagles doing a courting 'dance' in flight. Impressive.

Plan B also resulted in this. 6 to 8 ins of hero snow and a backdrop to die for. Yes please.

The weather today was classic Lofoten: overcast, sunny, violent snow squalls and between it all, quite a few glimpses of this. Once again, a superb day to make up for the 2 down days

Soooo...today was the final day of Lofoten 2017. We'll start at the end: it was EPIC.
Kristin (during Lofoten 2013 we helped evacuate her after discovering her with a broken pelvis after she'd skied off a large feature during a blizzard) skied with us today and was our pro team photographer so not so many pics today. Here's Hewey topping out at the col at the top of our lines. We skied the south side just out of shot first.
After getting fresh lines in 8 or so inches of untracked powder we skinned back up to the col and skied the north face. Here's Arno opening the entry to the final line of the trip (and the season for some of us). Untracked powder on a firm base.
We had a quick view check at the bench before the final line. A team shot L to R: Rian, Kristin, Steve, Hewey, offpisteskiing and Arno. Absolutely no product placement here at all #whitedotskis #areyouevensponsoredbro

Well, the final line of the trip. Let's call it 'Unicorn Gully Z' for now. 400m vert, 35 to 40 deg with 8 ins of untracked powder...and that view. Shadows of the team checking the entry.
Another superb trip and many thanks to offpisteskiing for organisation, cat-herding, powder finding and line choice. IT WAS EPIC
