@JimG2009, once physio started (about two weeks ago), the stiffness went quickly and it doesn't really hurt any more, but I still can't move my arm much, which is just odd!
I won't suggest any exercises, but mine are all 'passive' (my arm is supported in some way) and I have to do them several times a day. It's quite a challenge incorporating them into the working day, but I'm getting there. I'm reasonably confident that I'll be able to do some gentle pottering on blues next month.

Only managed about 15º on the first attempt but with a bit of encouragement from the OT lady got to 30 while at the hospital and am pretty sure I'm getting as far as the brace allows wibbling it up and down now. Still all rather tight and stiff and I can feel the overall weakness in my leg but have to start the 6 to 8 month rehab somewhere!

After 3.5 days in Zermatt back in November I broke my Tib and Fib so season was over. 3.5 months in and an Appointment on Tue where I'm hoping I get the green light for full weight bearing. It's been a somewhat frustrating couple of months so far but I feel I'm making steady progress now. Plan on being fitter and stronger by next season; good luck to everyone in their recovery so we all get back to the sport we love.

Trapped nerve in my back has led to a weak right leg. Past 4 or 5 years has got progressively worse so I'm limited to half days. Only skied maybe 5 or 6 half days this year due to this, bad luck with weather and my son having knackered his knee on Christmas Eve (rendering him out for the season).
Working on the leg/back with a physio now so hoping for improvement next year.

One of our boys whom is working in Verbier, managed to compress the top of his fibula by 7mm last week. Operated on by Swiss magicians on Tues, he can carry on working on crutches. No more skiing this season however.

Torn groin muscle in a decent crash at the bottom of Santons in Val D'Isere during Feb half term. Done on Tuesday so missed skiing all of Weds and Thurs and could only manage a couple of very slow and steady hours on Friday. No further trips planned this season so not missing too much. Physio sessions twice a week and now improving slowly.
Not a serious injury compared to most of those on here, but really annoyed that I b*ggered up my only week of skiing this season and completely my own fault. On the other hand I didn't hit a rock, person or tree, if I had the outcome may well have been very different indeed.....

@Frosty the Snowman, best if luck with new hip. Friend who had one Christmas 2015 has been enjoying her skiing this season.
I missed half a season with a fractured pelvis a couple of years ago but this year it's sheer decrepitude - arthritic knee - rather than injury which has limited my skiing. No good for XC either, sadly - in fact much worse. Transferring the weight forward onto my left knee not good at all.
But life goes on! Say it quietly round here - but skiing is not the only thing in the world!
I an just signing up for swimming lessons. Can't swim crawl for toffee, and swimming would be a good way to stay in shape.

After 3.5 months after my Tib and Fib break, I took my first unassisted steps yesterday. Was a scary moment but glad the physio got the whip out and pushed me. Specialist told me on Tuesday I'd be skiing 'next winter' and perhaps could start tennis in a few months. Music to my ears!!

I went to La Plagne at Christmas, but was told I needed a pace maker in early January , so had to cancel 4 planned ski trips....was (& still am) gutted.... hoping I will be allowed to go next season.

There you go! Progress will be rapid now. You will certainly ski next season with hard work and barring complications

@yorkshirelad,
And you will; you did it before and will do it again. Must be so hugely frustrating for you but you have the added advantage of knowing the right and best way to recover. It's going to be really interesting to follow everyone's recoveries and adventures to follow...

Hopefully i start weight bearing tomorrow, not having a pot on has helped me keep some muscle tone, so rehab is going well, should be posting a youtube update tomorrow on the rehab thread.. anyway... visibility in cervinia is bad so not missing the skiing.... honest

I go only for a week each year but have been doing it all my life, starting with the old type of skis and then being part of the carving revolution. This year I had this idea to increase the skiing time, so I went for a weekend to Vosges mountains in Jan (reachable by car from where I live). The result sadly was a tibial plateau fracture grade 3 (out of 6 levels of severity). It was a rather slow velocity fall so my bindings did not release and the rest as they say is history. The upside is that my ligaments are intact and the surgery was not necessary, I learnt to know this type of fracture can be really devastating but it seems I had a narrow escape from something really bad. A week in amazing Cervinia/Zermatt (11-18 March) cancelled, but after 5 weeks on crutches I can walk again. Booked my 2018 skiing holidays in spare time and trying to stay positive. I am thinking of doing a ski academy week in November to wipe out the anxiety and improve my skills to minimise any injury risk in the future. Maybe this whole thing can trigger some changes, like investing more time and money in order to stay safer
