Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

No need to get silly about it just because it's stanton making an opinion, whether it is right or wrong (stantons's reasonable opinion on danger of avalanches was also shouted down seemingly for the same reason).
Get caught speeding, you're going to get a fine. Nothing to do with taking moral high or low positions. It wouldn't seem beyond the realm of possibility that not paying it may somewhat irk the authorities and by the marvels of modern technology you might end up with it catching up with you one way or another.

The only places that I have seen the authorities successfully use passport checks to collect unpaid speeding fines was Australia and Belgium. However, the Belgians only appeared to be interested in Belgian residents rather than tourists whereas the Australians were the complete oppsite!
In response to an earlier comment about a high threshold for preventing an EU national entering another EU country this is not the case.
A sentence of one day's imprisonment anywhere is enough to allow Border Force to refuse admission to an EEA national. Similarly, several low level offences (fines and cautions) could also led to refusal of admission as a "habitual offender".
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
