@breeze11, there is snow and it can be skied and enjoyed in limited fashion. Stay positive and just enjoy it for what it is. It's not great like it should be but its better than being stuck in front of a tv watching crappy Xmas rubbish.
The valley has been bathed in sunshine it's picturesque and the air as fresh as can be.
How old are your kids? There have been plenty of lessons up on biollaires and Sairon and all the kids looked like they were loving it especially those who know no better. |
The kids are 7 and 9 and have lunch time private lessons booked all week. All they've done so far is about 10m over and over on a dry slope so whatever they do this week will be amazing for them. X

Well if they learn on what's available this week in future years they'll be able to ski anything!!
Today was tough going for the most part but had a lovely couple of cold beers at igloo in a deck chair. Mrs Jirac had a few tumbles her technique can't really cope well with this tbh and she needs some lessons but they'll have to wait for our trip to Austria in Feb. Sairon is OK top to bottom apart from the last two turns prior to bergin lift which are treacherous with huge mounds of sugar on top of sheet ice. Link to carroz is closed but tbh just doing loops of Sairon bergin and biollaires is fine and has kept the kids pretty happy all week.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@breeze11, why not look at Alpe d'huez? Most skiing is above 2000m and has been good the past two sh*tty Xmases. Highest run starts at 3300.

Have a great time and you can always go for a lovely walk in the valley in the sun, which is what we have been doing, the scenery is beautiful and you barely need a coat.

@breeze11, how did you all get on at Morillon today?

Skied samoens sector today pretty good for the most part very busy in places but manageable. Marmottes and Dahu pretty stoney and rocky in places and lower down very hard packed but better than Morillon.
Off the back of tetes pres des saix to flaine and vernant was good fun on the grassy base as opposed to rocky areas. The top half of perce neige was good too.
Forecast has some light snow arriving but it's been raining lightly for the past hour in Morillon village so hope it's snow up top which freshen things a little for tomorrow.
All in all things considered a pretty good day and again the kids loved it but Mrs nervous Jirac less so.
