Beautiful sunny day. Skied Pinzolo today, in general very quiet but some pistes a little thin. Nevertheless great skiing to be had. Back in MDC skied down Amazonia at the end of the day and it was in fine for. Light snow forecasted tomorrow.

Light snow forecast turned into an overcast but bright day with the odd sunny periods. We had a great day and Hannah and her friend had a private lesson in Folgardia which they both enjoyed. Snow on the whole is really good. Tomorrow our last full day is forecast for sun all day. On the whole a great week.

Great day skiing. Sunny all day and it kept cold all day. Did most of the Madonna pistes, Cinq Laghe in the morning moving over to Spinale and Groste as the day went on. Snow remains in good conditions.

Had 3 hours on the piste before leaving today. Very warm even from the start. At the bottom of Patacossa express temp was reported at 18 degrees c. My own thermometer was saying 10. First few runs were on awesome corduroy piste and dead quiet moved over to Cinq Lagh area and snow was softening and quite cut up, also getting busy with weekend crowds. Had a great pizza at the Roi and now back at Venice airport.
Overall a great trip, good snow, no crowds and a lovely hotel with nice Co guests.

Just back in the office, having returned on Saturday from MdC
Good snow all over, although I'm not sure that you venture off piste in the lower areas. Certainly around MdC (1500m) the snow was good all round. Getting a bit mushy depending on the weather, with some small patches of thin snow by late afternoon.
As always, good overnight pisting meant good riding next day, although often mogulled in the pm.
We were lucky to have freshies all day Wednesday, which made for an awesome day out. If the weather conditions are not bright, there are NO queues, even in 1/2 term week: unbelievable.
Even on a bluebird day, the queues were a maximum of 5-10 minutes, and tended to wax and wane.
Lovely venue, we will go again, if SWMBOs ankle grows back again

Sorry for the late reply. We've been to Madonna for the last 4 years at half term so I don't have any experience of skiing there as late as you. We've always stopped at the top end of town near the Pradalago gondola which gives great access to the central ski area and the links to Folgarida. You can also ski down from there to the gondolas for the other 3 main areas, Groste, Spinale and Cinq Lagh. None of the red or blue runs are desperately steep but there are some steeper blacks but these don't tend to get bumpy and seem to be pisted every night. Most runs are tree lined. Groste and Pradalago are very cruisey areas, Spinale and Cinq Lagh have steeper runs and tend to be a little quieter. Make sure you try the Folgarida and Pinzolo linked areas as bot have a different personality than Madonna. Lots of nice bars and restaurants on the slopes and in town.

@stevew. Thanks for this. SOunds like a good resort for us! we are staying in Campo Carlo Magno so Groste will probably be our starting point in the mornings. Have kids in ski school in the mornings so will have to ski hard for 3 hours before we pick them up. Hope we will get a chance to go to Pinzolo and Folgarida. Forecast showing a big dump for this weekend. Fingers crossed it materialises and I can stop worrying about snow conditions for our trip on the 12th.. Any particular mountain restaurants you recommend? Can't wait now!

@Simone, we only ever use the self service restaurants on the mountain. We like the one at the mid station of the Groste gondola and the refugue a bit higher up. The Fiat hut at the top of Spinale is nice but gets busy. There's a good hut on the back side of Pinzolo near where the Tulot gondola comes up. In town for the first time we ate at the highly recommended Roi pizza restaurant near the bottom of the stade 2 man chair; very good and excellent value. If you're stopping at Campo Carlo make sure you try to avoid peak times for the Groste gondola as it can be busy at ski school change over times; maybe go over the bridge and up Fortini. Folgarida will be easy in your spare 3 hours but watch out for queues at the Oso Bruno chair coming out of the Marileva bowl, that's caught me out on a few occasions. Pinzolo will be more challenging in 3 hours as you have to get over to the Cinq Laghi area and then get a 20 minute gondola across followed by a chair. Might be doing on the kids day off ski school; nothing frightening on the way there or back.

@Gaz_H, Have a look on their facebook page. Conditions are probably now the best of the season after a bit of a slow start. They were fine when we were there just over a week ago and they've had an awful lot of snow since then.
