Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Make sure you do them in that order because if you hit the Mighty 'Coe first then Jackson Hole and Vail will be a total anti climax... Very Happy

You could probably find some good couloirs, but it would be a scary place to ski and a guide would be essential.

Not that I'm keeping tabs (I am Embarassed ), but I've just removed half a dozen from this list - places that I've visited since it was first drawn up, or places that were on the list as I'd already been but do want to go back to, such as Flaine, and Whistler

Sounds good! Why would the guide be essential? I haven't been there in person yet (the few times I've been to Skye we were kayaking, but I have friends who know the area well), but I normally prefer tot make care of myself. Is it just a question of being difficult to find the lines?

yeah, 'all of them' for me too, but top of the list in no particular order:

Gulmarg
La Grave
Jackson Hole
Kicking Horse
Revelstoke
any cat/heli skiing in Canada
have been to Niseko and Hakuba but would return to Japan in a heartbeat - Rusutsu, Furano, Nozawaonsen
Lofoten
Grimentz
would like to go back to the Aarlberg when there is decent snow rather than the sun baked cannon-snow after a month long drought we had on our trip a few years back
Dolomites
Silvretta ski touring

1) I was told the first time I went to La Grave that the closest US equivalent was Silverton, CO, so that's always been a bit of a yen....but not been to the US since.
2) Saw fantastic photos of glacier skiing in Greenland (in a Tea Club mag) so really fancied that....but maybe it's a bit too full on outback touring for me (I like a cosy refuge at the end of the day)
3) Likely I'm going to get to the Pyrennees this season....there's supposed to be fantastic stuff if you go a bit off the beaten track beyond the party towns.

(@Mr Pieholeo, I went to Sierra Nevada Jan this year for the first time - it's <3 hours from our Spanish house. OK for a couple of days, but it gets very windblown and crusty - the off-piste was as bulletproof as the pistes. Nice to see the sea (and even Gib if it's really clear) from the top. Good as an add-on to a family trip, but probably not worth a special effort just for the skiing. If there's snow, I should be going again beginning of Dec - on a family trip Wink ).

Emm tough one this,
Of course it would be nice to go to the Long Haul ones.
Somewhere in Japan,
Jackson Hole sounds good.

In Europe I have a few to tick off still, I like the sound of "Madonna Campiglio" it even sounds beautiful.
Austria: I haven't been to Pitz Buin or Obertauren (but I'm not that bothered if I don't ever get there)
Switzerland: Jungfrau region might be good plus St Moritz & Davos.

Gosh I had better get going ... I haven't got that many years left!

I think I'm going to plump for Madonna Campiglio if I could choose one.

It's Madonna DI Campiglio.
It's Piz Buin. And that's a mountain, without any lifts close by
