Davidof, you may well be right that there is a different approach with beginners as foolishly I never had beginners lessons so don't know but personally with higher levels I've not noticed a difference. I suspect with teaching its an element that many BASI instructors have very much got into instructing by choice rather than something they have fallen into which helps but my perception is that we are all human and skiing is skiing regardless of nationality.

I think time, resources and a day job may prevent GS training!!

Curtains, The Coach L1 is a great course, you should defo consider it and in terms of time off work and bang for buck I recon it is the best BASI course as far as learning about teaching/coaching

speed098, I think skimottaret's hacked into my accounts and nicked my L3 training plan!
I've just managed to get myself a cancellation place on the Coach L1 at Castleford in June and got my eye on the Common Theory in Sept, but bug, just looked and its now full!
Curtains, I've looked at that as well. Small matter of family and business getting in the way of being away for 12 weeks solid; having to do it another way!

snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

I did mine part time and no reason with some targeted training you cant get to L3 on a part time basis, ask touchguru . 12 solid weeks of training is not the right way to approach it imv...

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I've had some conversations with Mike and he's given me the low down on his training. Tbh, I think that paying to spend 4 weeks of teaching when you can do that with Interski for pretty much no cost, doesn't make sense to me.

abd, yup paying to teach is daft and technical training blocks over two weeks are counterproductive even if your fitness levels are very high. but then again you will learn all about that on your coach 1

You know it makes sense.

Skimottaret, why do you say "technical training blocks over two weeks are counterproductive"?

Curtains, abd, perhaps we should start a l3 training thread...perhaps I'll go on the wait list for the l1 coach then.
