I'm not entirely sure but this must be breaking some kind of law, least of all the anti fun rule that seems to be in place. I stopped filiming when I did because I thought I heard a train coming and wanted time to hide if it was.
stab, Holy moley!!! Fantastic film. Where did you bail out to, did you hide behind a tree, or what?! Hope your lady doesn't have too awful a night.

once I put the camera away I realised there was no train and I was just being dumb and paranoid. I actually took my board off at allmend station Looked around like 'I am the man' then got onto the sledge run down to my house.
was exactly the same last year though, ok we got more this year but this is what I was waiting for.
Salzegg tomorrow or I'm thinking black rock or oh god to wixi then hike up to wengernalp.

and I found out earlier in town it's only a 60 franc fine if they catch you, well it's 60 francs for getting caught on a sledge, must be the same for a board too.

Useless trivia: The board I was riding is the same one I learnt on all those years ago, I sold it but the guy I sold it to leaves it where I work, and he lives in italy. I don't think he ever waxed it.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

stab, there's a reason skiing down the tracks was banned, many years ago a couple of chaps skiied down after dinner from either Wengernalp or Kl Scheidegg and met a train coming the other way, unfortunately it didn't see them in the blizzard Apparently one died

today was much better, snow has settled a bit plus I had yesterday's tracks to use. Snow is so wet though I managed to get from wengernalp (joining the race track) down to the sledge run to allmend then allmend to my house, without unclipping From allmend down was just a few cms of snow wide and deep, gouged my board up but that's the price you pay for fun.
Was great going past hikers at allmend, I don't think they knew what the hell was going on
Going to leave salzegg for a while, I'm sure if I farted up there it would avalanche. I'm not as dumb as you look.

What a mad week. Unfortunately, I didn't have any ski gear with me, so it was a bit of a wash out. Very few walking paths open....and Brandegg was shut. so didn't even get my apple fritters
Was crazy the amount of snow. I'm sure there wasn't that much in January!! Will try and dig out some photos in the next day or two.
stab, great video, how regular are the trains out of season?!
at the moment they are every half hour but that day there was a power outage so nothing was running, or there was but it was very occasional. I saw a train at 2pm then nothing until 10 pm.
If you ignore the base that was already there in the winter then yes it was a bigger dump than the msb.

These were at Wengen station on Monday afternoon. They'd had a power outage, so were only running trains up to there once an hour. There were no trains to Interlaken and the cable car to Grutchalp was not running. The road from Lauterbrunnen to Zweilutschinen was also closed due to fallen trees, so we were a bit trapped!! Ended up walking to Stechelberg just for something to do.

The short answer is that we spent a lot of time in cafes eating & drinking, and riding around on trains, buses & cable cars!!
Sunday was okay (it didn't start snowing until that night), so I got a bit of walking in on Mannlichen and First.
Monday we couldn't do anything as we were stuck in Lauterbrunnen, so just went for the ride up to Wengen (and lunch in the Silberhorn) and then walked to Stechelberg.
Tue we went to Grindelwald, but the weather was still bad.
Wed the sun was out, so we took the post bus up to Isenfluh and then the cable car to Sulwald. Just did a short walk up there, and then went into Interlaken, where the snow had cleared.
Thursday we went to Murren, and walked back to Grutschalp, via lunch at Winteregg (that was pretty much the only path that was open).
Friday, we met Stab and a very wet Asti, then decided to try and make it to Bachalpsee. We did....but it felt like trecking to the arctic!
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Must have been weird seeing it all green on sunday and waking up to a blanket of deep snow on Monday.

yeah it's for that football nonsense. Seems like the whole of UEFA went to the joch today. They have been building that ball for weeks, just last week I was sat on top of it, was just a big lump of snow then.
Wengen has a new train, a green euro 2008 one, looks like teh ghey.
latest news (mostly old news for us )for winter 2007/08 as per the www.jungfrauwinter.ch website -
- New 6-seater HONEGG chairlift with wind-protection hood at Kleine Scheidegg
- Wide pistes on Honegg with technical snow-making facilities
- New reservoir at Fallboden for extra pistes with technical snow
- Sportpass offers unchanged - Sportpass prices ‘frozen’
- Season’s Sportpass for children (to age 15) at super price of CHF 250.-
- More hiking and sledging attractions etc.
Winter Special:
Next winter too! every Saturday, when at least one parent buys a 1-day ski pass, his or her children (age 6 to 15) will again receive the same ski pass absolutely free! Proof of family relationship required
It will soon be here again !!
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

and i am the current record holder, my 25 still stands Going to hit it with the skateboard tomorrow, come from chaes grubi down and push like hell, I want to see 40 at least.
They spend money on this shite but won't allow mountain bikes on the trains, build a skatepark or do anything that might improve the village or maybe attract people here. They focus too much on winter and the race
Honegg is getting wider every day now, loads of work going on up there.

1st and last trains, which is pretty useless to be honest.
