Cheese festival today. Normally this is a big event where the cheese that has been made in the high pastures during the summer is divided amongst the owners of the cattle. Anyone can buy a share in a cow - a one-eighth share will get you about 7 kilograms of delicious cheese. You can buy a share here: https://www.wengen-chaesteilet.ch/en/chaesteilet/
This year’s event was very much scaled-back, needless to say, but it's still a good day.

Yes the Edelweiss Hotel where I've usually stayed for the last few years when I'm in Wengen have their own cow and the cheese produced from it is one of the options on the breakfast buffet.

@Chris Brookes, Hard to understand the logic of having 1.5m spacing in the queue at the ticket office and then squashed together like sardines in the cable car.

No idea I'm afraid, but there was certainly nothing 'constructive' going on up there today.

Popped back to the U.K. for a few days. I've never seen Zurich airport so quiet. Check-in 3 (the super convenient one down at the railway station) was closed, and we were directed to check-in 1 upstairs. Here's what we found when we got there.
This was at 6pm, and it was utterly deserted. We checked in at the first class desk (the only one open) and flew back to the U.K. with Lufthansa (there are no Swiss flights) via Frankfurt. I'd really expected things to be busier, but it seems nobody is travelling. I guess it's the quarantine requirement in the U.K. and elsewhere. Something needs to change, or this winter's going to be a bit quiet.

Snow down to about 1700 metres last night (top of bumps). It won’t last - warming up significantly over the next couple of days.
The authorities in Grindelwald want to build a new piste from Bodmi to Grund, to provide a skiable link between the First and Kleine Scheidegg / Männlichen areas. Some objections have been raised however. https://www.jungfrauzeitung.ch/artikel/186153/

Me thinks a long strip of dendex may be the answer to that idea. There is a little piste from Bodmi down to the side street just above the railway station. In a "good" season it may be skiable on half dozen occasions!!

They are talking about a new piste with the required snow making facilities

Yesterday’s snow means we can get the snow shoes out.
It's bright today, but still cold enough to run the cannons on the village slopes.
