Odermatt in the GS, we’re watching one of the all time greats.
I can’t stand the two shouty male commentators on Eurosport, as races transpire they up the decibels with each competitor. Over reacting to tiny mishaps, talking up the prospects of racers clearly having a bad run. Thank God for the remote control
My dream team would be the Chilton and Hirscher.

Have to say I'm quite enjoying the new commentary teams, especially when Ed Drake takes the lead.
Though to be fair I always enjoyed listening to Nick too..

Just checked FIS and comes up cancelled for today, Sat, at Val di Fassa. Still showing scheduled for tomorrow, Sun.

Same today. According to Eurosport - 'Huge amounts of snow'.
Great for the resorts, not so great for racing.

Tough day in the office for Dave 24th. Billy qualified in 30th place but unfortunately didn't complete his second run.
Laurie did not make the second leg.
|
|
|
|

|
Ragnhild Mowinckel will retire at the end of the season
Wrong tactics for Billy I think. Getting down safely to secure ranking points would have been a better option. Still that bit caught out some of the best

Great second run from Laurie! Both Laurie and Billy on course for their best WC seasons. Dave too hopefully.

Yes great news that he is back!!!
Hope he has the support to train and keep winning medals - if I'm not mistaken isn't there a group of skiers that are independently training from their teams with Red Bull and Marcel Hirscher ?

@extremerob, that's the impression I get from Charlie Raposo's social media.

Lucas Braathen always had the option to do his own thing so his interview when he quit just seemed somewhat melodramatic.
Congrats to Manu Feller, had a fantastic season and fully deserves to win globe. Just Dave in the WC finals though.

Well yet another fabulous GS from the ladies. Brignone doing it in style and oh.......that smile!
Tantalising that the podium has left the globe up for grabs at Saalbach

Sporting parallels spring to my mind. Tiger Woods at his brilliant best.

Incredible from Shiffrin. Six weeks out, the second run a class above the field. We’re lucky to be watching the GOAT.

Well, day one of the Hinterglemm (don't call it Saalbach) WC, great racing. The men's GS was super exciting, the women's slalom was no surprise but great podium.
Sun, rain, excellent crowd, looking forward to bringing out the flag for Dave tomorrow - though not sure the conditions are going to suit.

And that's it for this season . It ended, as it began, with a cancellation and there also seemed to be a hell of a lot of injuries to high ranked skiers as well. One of my favourite female skiers (Ragnhild Mowinckel) is retiring too so I'll miss her but am looking forward to seeing Lucas Braathen again next time in Brazilian colours!
Thinking about team GB next year, will Dave be back? Will the other 2 tech men start getting regular top 30 (or better) results? Are there any females coming up to replace Alex Tilley and Charlie Guest? Will we ever be able to produce anyone to compete in the speed events?
Looking forward to it already!

@maggi, really sad the season is over and agree with you about Ragnhild, lovely girl , had the pleasure of shaking hand and a photo few years ago, she has got the most beautiful smile.
I am looking forward to Zak Carrick Smith, he is a real prospect for the future
