So where exactly is Oh God?
So those of us who still have some sense of self-preservation can look out to stay away from it.

stab, that snowpark at Rad was good until they moved the bar away from it ...
Last week they still hadn't built the half pipe due to the snow .

paulmck, not true, it really does depend on conditions, get it with a foot of fresh powder on it and any intermediate skier could easily do it, try it when it's been pisted and is frozen solid top to bottom and you need to be a good technical skier to get down it without problems

I can see how a newly arrival gets into trouble. There's black runs. But then, there's BLACK runs. By the time a wannabee stands on the top of the run, it's too late to do anything but try to ski down it. (haven't we all done that at one time or another?) Sadly, some of them don't suceed. |
yeah but to get up there you have to pass a sign that says "experienced skiers only" or words to that effect.

Still no halfpipe 2 kickers, some rails and a quarter pipe hip thing. I had a go on the smaller kicker but really didn't feel good today, took 3 falls on my 1st piste run.

I know how you feel, i now have physio for the next 6 weeks on my knee......the joys !! |
you havent had physio in wengen then, it's a choice of being pummeled to death by one of the physios or lightly touched until you fall asleep by the other.
Saying that the back was a bit better today, or those big ibuprofen are working.
Ah well, tomorrow is coming and I heard there's a fresh load of skiers to harass.

....and fresh snow to go with it. Weather Supremo D G Orf has not published a forecast recently, and Stab has not mentioned weather the crows are circling, but if the predictions on the various sites are correct, then next week in Wengen should see a flake or two....

AdrianV, sorry I published one last week but I put it on the MSB thread, I suppose I should have put a copy here as well
but since I didn't here is the latest forecast for the next 2 weeks
The temps will drop sharply tonight and should stay at sub zero levels all week, this will be combined with overcast skies and what should be regular light snowfall ocasionally going to heavy, I would anticipate this topping up the upper pistes but probably the lower slopes are too far gone for significant improvement
The following week looks like starting off cold with a little more snow but warming towards the end of the week

D G Orf, thank you....I know that you err on the side of caution, so presumably this might translate into snow dumping like crazy over the next fortnight (I'm ever the optimist!)

telford_mike, Great pix and Wengen deserves a good end to the season. Can't make out where the second pix is?!
Good friend of mine, Helen Gloster, is coming as Ski Club rep at the weekend. Hope you meet up as she is great fun and an excellent skier.

telford_mike, excellent pics.....im so so jealous
At least the pistes will be quieter now in Murren (if i was going) as the amount of people from Wengen & grindlewald that turned up when the snow was bad elsewhere (coach loads in fact from Grindelwald !!).

today was freakin awesome, a few blind runs on mannlichen in the cloud before destroying the lager/tschuggen T bar off piste areas, then up to lauberhorn for hosenplatz, over the train tracks then down to wixi lift, back up to the top for an under the start ramp spliff then destruction all the way to wengen. Off to the right of the hundschopf into the avalanche barriers, down through the trees to the race track, straight lined it down the left of bumps, telegraph pole run, allmend to my house then a kicker session and a cup of tea, ding dong happy days.
Still didn't see a large group of internet nerds I suspect they are all hovering around salzegg, or figeller
