The PC at the Tourist office crashed so i couldn't use it (not down to me !!). We all had an excellent time with two great powder days on/off piste to finish on ( Friday 9th & Saturday 10th) ...great end to the holiday.
I will post tomorrow in detail with pictures - using the link below (if anyone is interested about Murren..lol)
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

there is an internet point you can use in Rocks Bar - laptop. v cheap and the guy who owns the place sometimes throws it in for free with a few drinks!

I'm having so much fun at the moment it's not real. Yesterday looked set to be a nightmare, half the western world decided to come up the mountain but with some clever planning I avoided them all for the entire day. It's pretty much the best it's been ever here at the moment, don't know how the high temps this week will affect it but at the moment I don't care. I have a face like a raccoon and pains in parts I never knew existed.

I know it's too far away to be reliable but Snow-forecast, Metcheck and this all suggest some weather in a week's time. Fingers crossed

I have to conclude it is a seriously bad idea to go and test skis
I bought myself a pair of Stoeckli GS skis, which really really really urge you to go Very very very fast ....
Plan on going Schilthorn tomorrow (wednesday).
Chris Brookes, PM'ing you my swiss cellphone number, just in case you see this message and want to meet up while I'm in Murren.
Unfortunately i'm leaving friday afternoon .... season over for me

Elizabeth B, That'd make it better suited to the name 'mid season'
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

me too but I'm djing tonight so it's very unlikely I'll be up in the morning. I plan on not drinking anything at all, except water and coke, and I want to be in bed by 3am.
I took my new board back yesterday, everyone agrees it's broken but not broken enough, wtf does that mean??? It's broken or it's not.
Piste is taking a beating with this heat though, mannlichen side is ok but wixi and innerwengen/allmend are going down, medic needed. And Oh God was pisted last night for the 1st time this year
I thought they'd decided last year that they weren't going to piste Oh God?
I prefer it unpisted to be honest, seems pointless to me so late in the year to do it.

What about Gummi Nord and Red.. er Blackrock ?
After all it is free

gummi isn't pisted as of this morning, I don't think there is enough snow yet down there. The last time I was at Blackrock was 2 days ago, good powder runs but not pisted.

coke? I'm sure from an earlier post in this thread that Stab confined his recreational puruits to spliffs...

what a day, took me one hour to do 2 mannlichen runs
Piste was deserted today and I'm a bit mad I ruined a great day by drowning myself with jagermeister. But at least I inflicted the Osmonds on the wengen nightlife And cheekily edited that fedde le grand song put your hands up for detroit into put your hands up for wengen
Schilthorn tomorrow (or more specifically the snow park in schiltgrat) when normal service should be resumed.

anybody know if it's possible to get from the piste at the end of the winteregg lift to murren? I don't want to take the train across. I also don't know the names of the pistes, one of the 2 blue runs I guess.

Swiss weather service reporting MAJOR change in weather sunday night. Cold weather coming in from Sccndinavia. Winter is returning. Rain lower Snow higher. Yesterday freezing level was 2500M this will drop down at least 1000M on Sunday night.

Yeah. Get the chair at Winteregg and board down in the far direction. You end up going down the Palace run (a bit of a track) which brings you out at the bottom of Almendhubel funicular. Get that up, and then you can get down to the snowpark from there, starting off on the bob run.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

cheers, yeah I know the way, I meant is there enough snow, last time in january there was barely enough to do it. Did it today and it's alright, very slushy with loads of bare spots.
stab, I did think it was an odd question from you!!

I know all the runs and that but the names of them I have no idea. Snowpark is quite good in murren, except I seem to be still hungover

Saw someone heli'ed off Oh God today, which was a total icerink around 11. My neighbour instructor said a second person was also heli'ed off oh god today, so be warned, it ain't cool until it's late in the day (thus soft)... if at all...
I stll believe they should only patrol that thing, not piste it.
Co-worker said they basically pisted it because they got tired of the ropeducking.
telford_mike, i'm leaving friday at 6 p
sorry mate, next year i'll be back!
Walked up the Mannlichen Gipfel to make some photos, but doubt it will be cool, as it was very hazy in the valleys.
Enjoy the MSB guys&galls, the forecasts look awesome.
My last post from Wengen this season

2 years back an instructor friend of mine had someone die on oh god.
I was at eigergletscher a few days back, I always expect a fair level of competence up there from people but sadly no, full of monkeys who should be on arven.
