We got to top of becoin lift just before out noon with the intention of ski to montalbert but La Roche lift was broken, nice pisteuur was stopping people go down runs, we had lunch at Aime 2000 and it hadn't restarted by 1pm another reason why loosing the Coq lift is not good runs, any way great day skiing in la plagne despite high temps, found a new red back to vanoise express which interesting at the Bottom!

So when la roche lift is out of action presumably they put on a shuttle bus to 1800 or centre? We've stayed in Monty a couple of times and are very fond of the village. Should we be put off from returning again by this new lift configuration?

Montalbert was definitely on our list of places to return to. We had a great time there two years ago, but I fear we won't be returning with the new lift regime. What a pity. I'm struggling to think why anyone would think it a step forward. It may soon be quicker than ever (or not) to get to the top of Le Fornelet but the loss of Coqs is going to make the whole journey far longer. V sad.

foxtrotzulu, It shouldn't put you off, ok if you where considering peak weeks then yes maybe, its going to be a nightmare skiing down to la roche but we have to consider any where in the french alps in peak weeks we have to que for a lift and thats part of the regime. Why does every man and his dog travel on a saturday?? For me as a business then yes its a concern with peoples opinions, end of the day the Gondola will be a improvement for montalbert and untill the first day of the season starts, we can not say if this is going to DAMAGE the reosrt of montalbert.

Isn't it wonderful we have snowheads out there prepared to post about conditions in the morning of a lovely day following fresh snow the night before.
So, not dashing to the bakery for croissants, not reviving the brain with another coffee, not hauling on the ski kit and applying sun cream.
No, none of these: they are sitting down in front of their laptops/tablets to tease us with the lovely conditions.

Snow conditions right now in La Plagne are just magnificent. Lots of fluffy crunchy snow, topped off with blue skies and sunshine  pity about the crowds/kids/queues but hey ho, can't have everything!

boardatwork, There is no connection to La Plagne after the lifts close. A taxi would cost rather a lot I think.
