If you look closely he has very cleverly stuck one into the snow and continued skiing still holding 2 poles, surely a drill you can work with there Rob

Ah, I didn't see he had a pole in each hand; it looked like he had left one behind him.

rob@rar, it was a "ski round the instructors pole so the local snapper has a focal point" type deal.

And while I am scanning old photos, here is my mother on her first ski holiday in 1946 (still wearing her army trousers). Could it be Davos? I haven't been there as an adult so I don't know.
As she is now 95 she doesn't have a recent ski photo.

livetoski, You've got Parablacks (sp?) big lumps of plastic that were supposed to stop your skis crossing.
snowball, epic photos. The world was much more stylish when everyone was black and white. I'm also truly impressed that you've still got that old gear.

I think my dad's jacket WAS black. Perhaps we were grey but I remember my jacket was blue (with ski-school and resort badges my mum had sewn on the arms for me).

Last spring in Chamonix, I saw a group of chaps skiing in tweed jackets, flat caps and deer stalkers. They were good skiers and the outfits definitely turned heads

Just learned how to upload photo's - with only partial success. Why is it so small?
First week on snow, paid for with final year student grant. Lermoos, Austria. 1988. Landed in an explosion of grey and broke my thumb.

skimottaret, great bump!
Rereading the thread, I'm wondering:
* Does kooky still have a mullet?
* How did roga and scotia turn out as adults (they started out as cute kids)?
* Why was AndAnotherThing.. skiing with a flower vase on his head?
* How come more recent pics of horizon getting air show the same tips up style?
* How come livetoski has not aged, does he have a creepy painting in his attic?
* For the love of god, can someone please tell me where I can find this Danish porn that was mentioned?
