In that case.... a couple of weeks ago. First webcam looked totally white white white, awesome 
took well over a day to disappear again...

a little amount of snow have reached down to Mannlichen (2230m). Of course it wont stay but its nice to see it white again...

Im in Bern for a few weeks.
Right now it is very sunny,clear view of the Jungfrau, not a chance of snow with these temperatures !

stanton, you'd be surprised, I stayed in Wengen one July and on the Friday it was 30C, on the Sunday I woke up to discover snow from arround 5000ft upwards, I walked up to Kleine Schedegg and found a good 20cm of snow up at the station, mind you it had all vanished by Tuesday morning

Its the same weather as it was when I was down here last October. It did not get cold until mid-november. Right now it is very bright & sunny.
Pictures will be hard, I dont have bluetooth on supplied PC.

Hi, I'm a Jungfrau region regular. More of a grindelwald groupie really. Just got back from a pre-ski week and the weather was fabulous - beer and sun tan at Faulhorn. I'll be back in January for the first ski hol of the year. If you need any advice about where to stay, things to do and where to eat, ask away.

HI everyone. Need some local knowledge here. My daughter's been offered a place on a school ski trip to Wengen, first week of April 4th -12th 2008,.They're doing the same trip in Feb 1/2 term but all places taken. Price is the same as for Feb though. How is the spring skiing there? Have skiied Meribel in MArch and suffered porridge, mud and tarmac earlier in the year so a bit concerned about conditions.
Would appreciate any info - thanks.

helenjane, It can be good there but I'm amazed that the price is the same as Feb, if the snow is good there skiing will generally be fine in the morning but soft and slushy by about 2pm, personally I would advise you not to send her then even though I love the place, there's a good chance that many of the lower lifts and runs will be shut

Thank you - as we thought but felt I was being nasty mum, having said she could go for feb then being told Easter was only option. £814 (inc evening stuff) and coach as well def excessive for Easter.N ice to hear from those that know, never having skiied there ourselves.

Chris Brookes, We will - the package was reasonable value for Feb - 5 hours of ski school a day,equipment, pass and evening stuff. Shame that those skiing for the first time will need wetsuits at Easter!

Yes if that price had been for February it would have been just about Ok but for April it's too much

I think that conditions should be okay at Easter...but agree that it should cost less that Feb.

Should definetly cost less. Club med for 1 adult (which is all inclusive, wether you like it or not) the week of the 7th of April is 728 euro (483 quid) which includes skipass, lessons and rental unless i'm mistaken. For the remaining 380 quid it shouldn't be hard to get 1 person from GB to Switserland.
If you play it nice at a little less luxurious place you might just join the daughter for those 814 quid.....

Okay, I'm going out the 9th of december for the courses the ski school gives before the season start.
Since my sister has a few days off too many left this year she considers joining me for a week, or possible the week of the 15th. Costs will be very very low for her...
Question is, can she expect anything more then Canonned snow around the Arven lift, or should she expect just that....
Looking at the history of reports at wengen.com i'd say 70% chance of decent skiing at the 9th, rapidly increasing as time goes on...

Ronald, 30% chance of skiing on the 9th perhaps as much as 70% on the 15th, many of the lifts don't open untill about a week before Christmas, I think last year many of the lifts didn't open until the 19th or 20th, of course the railway will be open and possibly the Mannlichen cable car and gondola, other than that I'd say Arven and possibly Lauberhorn may open, as to the quality of the snow, that will depend on the temps, if it gets below -5C in November they will start to make snow at the higher levels, they often don't make snow at resort level before early December

Im not trying to be negative here but i think your chance are pretty slim on or around the 9th December looking at past record levels and looking st the archive pictures on the http://www.wengen.com news link.
Never know it could be the best season yet...i hope so !!
