kel you`ll need to give me a bit to find it. It was earlier this year, just random trawling google.fr and just bashing out immobilier searches.

Kenzie, nice one. What are your personal circumstances, if I may ask ie marital status, off-spring, job? In other words, how do you make it work? |
Single; no kids; just been made redundant (before the 1st of the 4 seasons), thereafter saved everything I could from summer temp jobs.

Kenzie, whats the script with the free car parks they sounds sweet. Do they fill up quick? how close to the slopes? |
Free car parks in Tignes les Boisses & Tignes les Brevieres - just turn up & grab a spot, 1st come etc. Close to slopes (and bus stop in Boisses).

Err Christcurch????????????????
Sorry I was assuming you need to do something for a Living.
Santiago and Lyon are a little dubious come to think of it although perhaps not as much a basket case as NZ.
Of course fatbob, it sounds as though you might do a roaring trade as a pole dancer in Reno though.

It cost me about £7,500 last year to do a season in Tignes, That was with sharing with 2 others (personally not recommended unless you know the people your living with first!)
Ive estimated 10/11k this season as im renting my own place this season in Tignes.

All i'm doing it:-)
My girlfriend and I have taken a year off work to travel the world and I managed to persuade her the best way to start was a snowboard season.
We have rented a room in a shared house 5-10 minutes to the slopes (at the most) of Vallandry. We decided a share house was the way forward as we get Sky TV(English), all the bills, phone and broadband included. In addition you get nice accommodation and we could even swing cats in the lounge Which is more than I could say for the accommodation I looked at for the basic price. You could get an apartment in Peisey Vallandry for circa 5k euros but it is a tiny studio and a season with the misses cramed in those and sleeping in the lounge was not our idea of fun.
Our Costs
Accommodation = £4,000 (£2k each)
Travel (Return not each way) = £430 (£60 Ferry, £120 Tolls, £250 Fuel)
Lift Passes = £2,000 (£1,000 Each)
Insurance = £400 (£200 each)
Spending Money = £2,000 (£100 per week for 20 weeks for shopping in Bourg not on the mountain/Fuel for car)
Total = £8,830 (£4,415 each)
As for not working, well we are both trying to get casual work, airport transfers, bar work, cleaning etc... which if we can get it will mean Beer Money, if not I can live without as Ill be in the mountains doing what I love and thinking of all my mates who are at work
I’m not including any of the kit I have bought for the season as I don’t want to add up the cost of all the things you buy for a season that you go without for a week !!!

We were lucky!!! The people we are renting from run a really good catered chalet just round the corner and we stayed there last year, cheapest holiday ive ever had chalet accommodation wise the best!!
They mentioned it when we were over there and when we got back we contacted them about renting one of there rooms!!!

Let's put it this way. Try living with 2 people who had never lived away from mummy and daddy and you'll know what I mean!
