Oh well mine is so small but when you see it don't laugh. You know size doesn't matter it's the quality that counts.

2000 Glen Coe 2 days No snow lots of rain and fog
2001 Neiderau 7 days Very Green to start with but snowed most of the week so conditions did improve
2002 Valmorel 7 days Average conditions - very warm so bare patches on the slopes by the end of the week.
2003 Neiderau 7 days average conditions and lots of Ice.
2004 Can't believe it but actually missed this year due to friends visiting us from Tenerife.
2005 sauze D'oulx 7 days Very Poor snow. lots of stones and my skies still show the scares
2005 Valmorel 7 days Brilliant Snow Conditions
2006 Neiderau 7 days Fantastic snow, Beautiful clear blue skies and lots of sun.

Hi, I recently joined.......In a different way than you, and consequence that I'm Catalonian and I live 100km far away the Pyreenes (the nearest my town) I visit several resorts in Pyrenees (and also several times each of them):
Port del Comte, Masella, La Molina, Eyne-St.Pierre, Les Angles, Puigmal (Pretty freeride bowl), Puyvalador, Formigueres, Porté-Puymorens (challenging couloirs), Ax-3 domaines (Ax-les thermes), Pas de la casa and Soldeu el Tarter (now, Grandvalira), Arinsal, Pal and Ordino-Arcalís (now these 3 together are Vallnord), Port-Ainé, Boí-Taüll, Baqueira-Beret, Piau-Engaly, Saint-Lary Soulan, Peyragudes.
In the Alps Zermatt - Cervinia, and the Arlberg (St.Anton, Lech and Zurs), and after the next week Schmmitenhohe, Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Kitzbuhel and maybe Bad Gastein.
So, for questions about Pyreenes........

tessaventer, maybe a question out of context in this thread, but how did you break an ankle skiing? In the tame cruisy 'blue land' that is Corvara at that???

agavin, 'fraid so! The usual last run of the day and I wasn't looking where I was going, went off piste and stuck my ski tips in the snow over a ledge and Tom & jerry'd onto the piste! Just goes to show that not all accidents are at high speed...
|
|
|
|
|
|
tessaventer, that's amazing! I would have thought the ski boot was pretty much like having a re-inforced ankle - must have been horrible getting the boot off

You know it makes sense.
|
agavin, the surgeon back here told me I had a footballer's injury not a skier's injury... all very well but I was on the slopes when it happened! Also because not a lot of English spoken in those parts the doctor in Corvara thought I'd injured my knee and tried to wrench the boot off! ouch

Hi
Interested to see how many of you are so diverse!!
I have only skiied twice:
2003 Borovets - Bulgaria
2004 Borovets - Bulgaria
We were lucky re: snow conditions but having said that we haven't been anywhere else! We like Borovets as a resort and found the locals to be very friendly.
Only 13 days to go and we are off to Morzine and can't wait. Really looking forward to comparing the differences and seeing if the slight increase in cost is worth it.

Hi - just back from Le Seignus (L'Espace Lumiere, Southern French Alps), and stayed in Chalet Vallons, owned by a Snowhead!, but also skied in
Andorra (twice)
Montgenevre
Passo Tonale
Schladming
Bardonecchia twice
Sauze D'oulx
Borovets VERY cheap resort, but hotel/food/snow awful
Waidring twice
Thyon 2000 (desolate ski station in Nendaz area - great snow but dull, dull, dull!)
La Thuile
Les Carroz Lovely little Grand Massif village, good snow but tiny, pokey hotel with nothing but cheese on menu!
Mayrhofen - more times than I can remember and not just because of the gluhwein
Zell am Ziller (ahhh, my first time ever - ski-ing that is)
Auffach (less said the better - bumped from booked resort of Waidring, by tour operator less than a month before going, to Auffach which had not one inch of snow)
Chamonix
Val Thorens
There may be others but time and wine have eradicated the memory
