genepi, Well done on posting those links. For anyone not to good at french below is a basic translation.
For Les Arcs areas.
Of the 12/12/09 to the 18/12/09 and of the 18/04/10 to the 24/04/10, the openings and closings of mechanical ascents are subjected to the conditions of enneigement and of filling up of the station. ( I have left this one as translated. It is interesting to see which words they do not change.)
For Peisey Vallandry
From the 12/12/09 to the 18/12/09 the openings and closings of the ski lifts are subjected to snow conditions. In case of opening: For the schedules and closings of the RM of the 12/12/09 to the 18/12/09 please refer to the schedules of the period of the 19/12/2009 to the 01/01/2010. NB: The TSD Grizzly and the TK of Combe will not be in service before the 19/12/2009.
When I get to resort I will post the details they give me for the first to weeks opening details when they make there minds up. Rob, if you are there already and they have printed anything, could you post it for us.
WesTaylor, great idea for us all to meet up. Just from this page look how many  are going to be out, and I bet there are even more.

Meeting up one lunch time or for a drink (coffee of course) might be good. If anyone has any suggestions please add something here. We might need to book somewhere if our numbers get any bigger.
For anyone that is interested I am going to do the 'Challenge' again on the first saturday when the links are open. 19th Dec. Will be fun to see how fast I can do it without a sore leg. Anyone that is interested is welcome to join me. Boredsurfing, was that the best time last season in the end, I know it is for fun but we are all competitive by nature and are you out then again this year.
If anyone it interested in meeting up for a ski/board around during the first two weeks whilst it is quieter please do PM me or post here. If you arrive after the 19th do get in touch as it is always fun to ski/board with new people.
Dry Boy, and any other boarders, we must get together to hit the powder when it comes. I do not need much of an excuse to switch to my board.
Look forward to seeing you all out here soon. Oh yes and it is raining outside right now so it should be snowing in the hills, I HOPE  and the web cams look more promising at last.

Snowcrazy, will be good to hook up and ride some powder, and get some good off piste routes off people in the know!! Not had huge amount of experience in the fluffy stuff, last year was my first year I managed to hit the right week for a dump (although I went three times to increase my chances, dumped every time though:-))
My misses needs to get up to speed thouh;-)
Perhaps we should all meet up in the Mont Blanc for a few lemonades one night after some sliding??

snowcrazy, This was just a page I used to have on my desktop to get my favourite cams on one page without pratting about, clicking little magnifying glasses etc. Quite happy to add pics if people want, but no, not taking up the challenge.

I just had my fix for the day, looking at the snow falling on the webcams. I guess about 25cm on the mountain at 2000m and around 10 -15cm in Arc 1600. Great to hear it is snowing down to Bourg.
For those that are out when there is enough snow, it is a great trip to ski down to bourg from the resort. But it is off piste after the first third of the hill and it can get hard to find the route through the forest.
Next weekend promises to be excellent if the snow keeps falling.

Once I've cleared it with the author to publish out to a wider audience, I have a lovely little wallpaper programme that you can set to either have one particular cam shot updating every 5 mins (and include the snow forecast in the corner if you so desire), or it cycles through the 18 arc1950 cams plus one at 2400m. It certainly brightens the day and the whole W family have it laoded on the variety of PCs around the house..
I've asked his permission to give it out to you lot, watch this space!

That is my fave cam which I check regularly - mainly for the view across to Vallandry, as it shows where the snowline is. While the Vallandry cams are great, they are higher up so don't reflect the skiing back to village factor
