A full day of watching today, especially with the ski jumping also being on! We're starting with Bormio - looks like an ice rink, watching the skiers legs vibrate is unnerving!

Agreed @ElzP, too much to view today and great stuff it was as well.
Once again Schiffrin moved out into her own superior world to show the other ladies how to ski giant slalom. Simply amazing!

Spoiler alert.......
When two commentators "shut up" and enjoy the skiing then I think we know that this is the pinnacle!
Not satisfied with 1.66 seconds lead from first run Mikaela took another 0.68 s to win by the astonishing margin of 2.34!

Bollocķs it's a racing thread the clue is in the title

@Whitegoldsbrother, I watched it live and agree with you, however he said 'spoiler alert' and he might have actually meant it

The Odermatt and Shiffrin shows continue, we’re watching truly greats in real time.
Some other outstanding performances too eg Cyprien Sarrazi taking the Bormio downhill win.

They've been doing good things in MotoGP for a number of years now, still going to get injuries unfortunately and sometimes they do go off in anticipation of an accident.

Going to need a miraculous second run charge

She appeared to hate the slush and fog of Slovenia.
Meanwhile Odermatt outclassed everyone at Adelboden in the GS.

Commentators said she was ill, and hadn't even made the bib draw on Saturday night for today's slalom.
Valerie Grenier's win yesterday I can only assume was as a direct result of following me up the t bar in Hintertux in October. Clearly my skiing inspired her.

Yes which you're probably much more likely to do if you're heads not properly in it because you're not well.

Just a heads up that from tomorrow (Thursday) there are 4 consecutive days of Men's World Cup events scheduled for Wengen. On Thursday there's a Downhill race (presumably a replacement for one of the ones cancelled earlier in the season), then on Friday there's a Super G, followed on Saturday by the classic Wengen Downhill and finishing off on Sunday with the Slalom.
All the races should be covered live on Discovery+/Eurosport.

Today's Men's Downhill from Wengen is just about to start. As expected this race is slightly shorter than the classic race being held on Saturday, but they're saying that even the shortened course will still take the racers about 1min 45 seconds to complete.

Thanks, I hadn't realised that it was added in today. Missed the first five.
Anybody know if Swiss Air are going to do their spectacular fly past?

Cheers Alastair. Might be some footage on Youtube.
Yep, various styles on the Kernen, some doing the usual wiggle, rally style. Looks like the valley cloud is rising up the mountain, another 50 runners yet!

They didn’t start at the top yesterday, they started at the point marked 'SK Start' on the map, just above the Hundschopf. It will be the same for the Super-G today.
