@hammerite, one thing I forgot to say is they made everyone queueing for the gondola put a proper mask on, buffs were not accepted.
They also only let people through the gate in batches so there wasn't excessive bunching in the queue.

@pieman666, thanks. I have a proper mask on. I’ll get up to the lift nice and early in the morning. Are you feeling well enough to ski? Any after effects?

@hammerite, I'm feeling fine thanks. No after effects in glad to say although my skiing has slipped back quite a bit but after a break that is to be expected I suppose.

@pieman666, that’s good. The skiing will soon get back to where it was.

@ysb33r, Grandvalira - all over. How was it around Pal/Arinsal?

Did not go today, but it will be busy over the weekend. Best come early.
Tomorrow morning I need to pop over to France, but might stop at Grau Roig on the way back for a couple of runs. (Will leave when it gets too busy).

@ysb33r, contemplating Arcalis. Just don’t know whether I can be bothered to get the car out and sat in traffic for the whole drive back.
Grau Roig was the busiest point for us today. Hopefully, you don’t have to go too far into France. There were queues all the way back as far as Pamiers today.

@hammerite, if you leave Arcalis by 3pm you should be OK. It should give you enough time to get through La Massana and the worst part of Encamp.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

It seems that Grau Roig is where there are the biggest lift queues as people transfer between sectors.

@Orange200, it’s a bit of a bottleneck. Especially heading towards it from the Funicamp and the Llac de Cubil lifts. The t-bar that runs alongside the chair stopped for a bit yesterday and people were walking up!

You know it makes sense.
|
! Wow, rather them than me.
Some of the bottle necks (not all) have single person queues which are well worth using. Yesterday even with the bad queues 10 mins was about the longest we had to wait for and a lot were quicker.

On Day 1 when we were there the chair had stopped, and there were about 150 people in a huddle waiting for the T bar, with more arriving every couple of minutes! Spanish queuing rules too. It was fixed by the next day.

10:30 and it is already getting crowded.
I ended up parking at El Tarter as I got back from France well ahead of the crowds. Did some runs at Soldeu & ET.
I am spoilt, so I am thinking conditions are not great in GV atm. Most of the steep runs seem to be closed and a lot of the groomers are hard under foot.
Probably just going to a couple more and leave. Sipping wine on the terrace in the sun seems to be a welcoming proposition.

Yes, I love the individual skier lines. I was in a small group yesterday so didn’t use them. I don’t mind getting a different lift up to everyone else, but others want to go on together!

@ysb33r, I’ve got some things to sort in town so decided against it today. Will aim to be out first thing tomorrow hoping that the New Years party goers will be having a late start! Enjoy the wine.

Anyone got any advice on travelling to Pas de la Casa from Barcelona on 19th Feb? We're hoping to get a private transfers but are unsure whether we are allowed to go the quick route via France without filling in all the French forms/testing requirements. We're fully jabbed so meet all the Spanish requirements. I've read somewhere that land border crossings just need a passport and fully jabbed as considered a journey between Spain and France (ignoring UK origin) and same on return from Andorra to France. Trying to avoid doing 2x4 tests for our family.

We didn’t show any tests in mid-Dec when the restrictions were more severe so I’d be surprised if you need anything.
