sarah, anyone else and I might call foul, but I fC and I are friends and have met. However, a word to the wise my friend - if teaching strange ladies I might be tempted to avoid comment regarding relative merits of their rear ends until you get to know them better!!

Megamum, that's looking much better. I don't think hand carriage is an issue at all - focus on that the skis are doing. Your fore/aft balance is much better. Generally you are making much more rounded turns than I've previously seen from you, with only the occasional one being a bit rushed so it is 'Z' shaped. I think there are two aspects that you could work on next:
Edging skills - develop more subtle control of the edge angle you use through your turns, from very edgy/carved turns, so much flatter steered turns. This will help you with...
Turn shape - it will be good to start mixing up your turn shape/size, so you can happily and seamlessly vary from short radius, medium radius, long radius, tightening or opening turns by varying the blend of how you steer your skis.

I'm really pleased with this feedback - that means I have managed to change the way I ski for the better which is really great news. I must make sure I don't have a relapse!!

franzClammer, unfortunately not, footy season has finished hasn't it? So the regular trips to Manchester have ceased and someone else has been doing the driving for a change. However, I have been exploring other things (good mental exercise if nothing else) I went clay pigeon shooting for the first time for my birthday last week and two weeks ago took my daughter roller skating (not inline!!) at the local rink - the first time on roller skates for about 30 years - remembered what I once knew and it was surprisingly like skiing, weight at the sweet point over the skates is real important, and it is better if I don't look at the 2 ft of ground in front of me and actually look up. I realised how unfit I was, but was dead chuffed to find that I could still do cross overs (doesn't work on skis though) - will work on backwards if I go again - I used to be able to go backwards on roller skates. I guess the balance aspect of roller skates is useful for skiing?

Balance aids I definitely think any skating helps with balance and posture that's transferable directly into your skiing
I use these balance aids randomly, I especially like the small circular one that rotates
