Can't agree with that one I'm afraid. Here's one I met earlier. I would say that females outnumber males in many of the lessons we do.

Wear The Fox Hat, Unfortunately the ESA is, funnily enough, in the middle of the season - I'd love to go, but I need to wait until the PSIA-W calandar is posted (just a little thing about Level 1 prep and exam!).

D G Orf, Matchams at the moment will be full of tourists (families), you'll have more luck around October when there will be all sorts of people (nice young ladies included) learning to ski and warming up their ski skills in preparation for their skiing holiday. It's too hot to go there at the moment with all your ski kit on. Nice to see you getting away from your PC, be patient though and who know?

I still hold out that a ski slope isn't the best place to meet single young ladies.
Being both single, youngish, and having frequented a few snowdomes and dry slopes in my time, I don't think that it is a particularly fruitful hunting ground, in much the same way that ski resorts aren't a particularly good place to find a partner, as skiing tends to be a male dominated sport.
Of course it's good that you're getting out there, and you're more likely to meet a companion on a dry slope, than you are stuck in front of your computer, but IMHO if you really want to meet someone then a more radical change of habits is likely to be needed.

Kramer, If DGO goes often enough he will become a regular, he will then get to know some of the Instructors and staff, and who knows in time may take the plunge to become one himself. There are, I agree, probably more suitable places to meet young ladies, but that isn't always an option. If nothing else DGO will become fitter and probably happier for it.

Elizabeth B, but can you explain why ? most of the male instructors I've seen could not be described as handsome although there are a few exceptions, but they always seem to attract the women

D G Orf, It's not just Ski Instructors, most instructors attract the ladies. I would say it's probably primeval instinct, a female searching for a mate would look to attract the strongest in the group (the leader), hence the attraction of the Instructor who is in effect the leader. Look at politicians they can be damm ugly but have beautiful wives (excluding Blair).

D G Orf, I think you are on the right track but there must be cheaper ways to entrap the young ladies!!!!
Ok OK I know the wordd "entrap" may not be the correct term and probably explains why I am in the same boat as D G Orf, . Not that he would use term such as "entrap"...... Now see this is what happens. I start to make a valid point then all the rubbish and gibbering begins
Ginger just stop.......

D G Orf, attracting the opposite sex has very little to do with being handsome (IMO), of course it helps if you look like David Ginola, and have got the body of Linford Christie, but fortunately women tend to be more discerning than that when it comes to selecting partners. Being in a position of power (ie an instructor) can be attractive to women, but more than that it is being confident in who you are, which tends to come with the territory when you have learnt how to be a good instructor, especially when it comes to a sociable sport like skiing.
You don't have to become an instructor to get this confidence, there are other ways that you can learn it, but it is definitely a skill that can be learnt, by anyone, if they give themselves the chance to. Although you may not believe it, the only thing that you are lacking when it comes to relating to the opposite sex is confidence, you have all the other qualities needed in abundance.
Sorry if this is a bit deep or personal.
