"Due to actual weather conditions, St. Anton am Arlberg ski area won't open this coming weekend as previously scheduled.
The unpredictable weather makes it difficult to confirm whether the actual situation will soon change. However, by the middle or end of this week we should be in the position to give you further information as we promptly get them from the Arlberger Bergbahnen.
The music cabaret 'Zugin meets Blues‘ will take place Friday, 30th November as scheduled, 8 pm in the WM-Championship Hall (ARLBERG-well.com). Free entry!
We optimistically expect the weather to change and allow the amazing ski season we normally have, to begin!"
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

St anton twitters saying the ski area won't open this weekend due to weather.
You know it makes sense.

Delayed Opening. no real surprise. Fromm what I recall 3rd delayed opening in last 4 seasons. Dont worry folks its getting much colder this weekend so the taps can be turned on to make the fake stuff

Message from Mooserwirt (also delaying)
ACHTUNG!
Lot's of people on ladders doing last minute painting and fixing this morning. Delivery vans delivering and shelves being filled. Osthang had a fair amount of snow on it, but was still bare in patches.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Given the number of times "Mooserwirt" gets mentioned here I think that ship has sailed. It's a good video, a few seconds opening credits showing the name of the company is no big deal. And it's relevant to the thread, no? Do you have a particular objection to P2P?

Who's advertising? I have no financial interest in Piste to Powder - they didn't put the vid up I did . Quite a few other snowheads use Piste to Powder for guiding purposes in St Anton, I am merely intersted to hear who else is using him this season.
Graham Austick can also be seen at 2:03 & 5:42 in this clip taken at his lodge in Norway
DB, to answer your question, We may do a day with them in a couple of weeks I'm only there for a long weekend, and I know they don't run the normal groups on a weekend, so it would just be the Friday I guess. Still watching the cams before booking anything though.

Hi, we are going to be St Anton for xmas week, four adults two teenagers, all skied a fair bit, mainly on piste. I was looking for tuition to take us as a group off piste for one or two days. Are there any in your list you'd particularly recommend? Should I book before we go? Thanks for any help, and for the weather update - great news!
Which dates will you be in St Anton and how old are your kids. We will be there from 28th or 29th for a week. We have 5 kids across the 2 families and our friends son in particular who is 16 wanted some English kids of a similar age to ski off piste with. Be happy to share the costs if it works. We also have a 14, 13, 12 and 10 year old - all very good skiers.

rachelb,
Imo.it depends first on the snowbase. Unless we have a couple of MAJOR storms
Before xmas i would advise against going off piste as its to dangerous. I.e hideen obstacles,
Like rocks, streams.that are only just hidden by a small layer of snow.

If driving from lech to st anton where would be a good place to park, also how long would it take and is it a difficult drive?

It takes about 25 minutes. Straight forward as long as the weather is not bad. I would always suggest the ski bus however which is simple and frequent and easier than parking in St Anton.

downhillalltheway, we're going from 22nd to 29th, so probably won't coincide, shame because our teenagers are 17 and 15 and would have liked the company.
stanton, thanks for the advice, I'll wait and see
