Blue skies and no new snow since Sunday but temperatures are low so everything's still in very good condition. Pistes firm and grippy. Off piste: some wind blown crust where exposed higher up but still lush and bouncy in the gullies, the trees and lower down. (via SMS)

Hi pokemon, Yes to both thanks.
The skis are great, though interestingly felt like something completely different (& better) once I adjusted the cant on my ( also new) ski boots after the first couple of days - amazing what a difference a few degrees in the tilt can make to the whole feel.
Also thought Zoldo lovely - it's a pretty & friendly little village & a stunningly lovely ski area which I'd happily recommend to anyone with the only proviso being that it is not a particularly large or difficult area & thus would be of limited interest to those who like to rack up the miles or are after scary black runs & off piste excitement. The night skiing was excellent, with two good red runs, one of which has a blue section at the top with it's own chairlift, open 5 nights of the week. I hold Sueski, entirely to blame for me skiing faster than I have ever skied before ( & ever intend to again, bearing in mind my advanced years etc) during one such night skiing session !!
Overall well worth a visit.
Meantime I'm trying, somewhat unsuccessfully, to read this thread in a suitablly dispassionate manner & ignore the craving for another visit

nickH, maybe you should just give in and book a return visit and come to Arabba, especially if it's snowing  . It looks as if it's getting colder again next week so I'm hoping the conditions are good for the 20th onwards.
btw, I'm hoping Sueski may be able to take us to Zoldo for a day, if she has guests there that week.

You lucky...lucky...lucky...lucky beggars - have fun as I sit here in a McDonalds just outside Perpignan (internet down at home), writing a dreary business plan, with the pleasure of making tea for my four kids to look forward to...whilst the better half is gliding down pistes 70mins away in Les Angles....still next week it's my turn for Friday Piste capers with the lads!!
