Poster: A snowHead
|
Who said the season is over in Scotland?
A pic or two from a friend last Saturday(not April's Fools day!) at Glencoe, with a little report below:
Main basin run complete, but narrow in lower section. Spring run has short break one third of the way down. Good spring snow in main basin; perfect spring snow on Spring Run - it's not called the Spring Run for nothing
Access Chairlift running. Upper tow paths are without full snow cover (a bit of walking maybe required)
Weather: balmy, with sunny intervals in the afternoon. Winds light.
Access road: many trout fishermen evident

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Nice one, Skanky. However, I'll be on the far side of Glencoe this weekend.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

from Cairngorm website
Although further fresh snow has fallen overnight, there is still insufficient snow for skiing or boarding. There are no complete runs and therefore we will not be able to offer snowsports this weekend.

Just back from the far side of Glencoe. Conditions: pretty epic(Altitude 3300m, Bec des Rosses the nearest peak with Mont Blanc floating in the clouds beyond). Report and further piccies to follow.
PS Glencoe is below the cloud level of 2500m, so is out of view
