Blinding Day! Boot high freshies, hill quiet, lots of pissed of race teams unable to set courses and be arrogant. Peter Frampton in the headphones. Pistes all like 15cm of white love on a solid base. Still snowing. Dipsy enjoying fresh snowballs. Back in time for tea and medals. LIFE SUCKS!

Hey eyes and ears of Tignes, what's going on? Webcams don't suggest much coverage at resort level, did we miss a decent dump?

We probably had 12-15 cm in village over last couple of days, village pretty white except roads, forecast clear but cold. There is enough snow for oscar to end up with a covered nose so pas mal eh?

Hobbiton
Eight o clockish
Another stunning day, loads of happy smiley skiers returning to middle earth. Very chilly, crisp like an iceberg lettuce. Dipsy and Meg enjoying the conditions. Forecast looking bluebird until Tuesday, then SNOW CAST THE BONES AND CALL IT A FORECAST.COM predicting some incoming white stuff and strong winds for the latter part of the six day guess.
Rammed full of guests this weekend so maybe not too many reports in the next 72. Love to all regular listeners.

Can anyone answer a query for me please? Our plane is due to land at Chambery at 08.30am in the morning and if our Skiworld transfer is on time, what time do you reckon we will arrive in Tignes? If early enough it would be good to ski. Where would be the best place to get a half day lift pass? Thanks.

Chambery is 2 hours from Tignes, Lift passes available from Maison de Tignes in Le Lac front de Neige or at the bottom of the Funicular in Val Claret.
Have fun and take piccies, we're starving!!!

depends on when you are travelling. Sat 27th Dec or 15th Feb will take 6x longer than any other day. Plus you need to allow extra for TO faff factor - like waiting for another plane to turn up, to do a drop in Moutiers to change buses etc. As Kaiser said should be no more than a couple of hours..but..

Beverley, they are only offering the Gatwick flight to Chambery though aren't they? So hopefully your transfer bus should start on it's journey quite swiftly....as I said on the other Val d'Isere thread, I haven't been able to answer your PM and say " etc etc see you in Tignes in a couple of weeks" because you're mysteriously "down a crevasse". So we can chat about the rowing etc when you get to Tignes, well in the evening if you are going out skiing that day!
See you in a couple of weeks.

What is the designated day/hour of Snowheads meeting time?

|
There are at least 2 free lifts (1 in Le Lac & 1 in Val Claret) if you get there so late (flight delays etc) that it's not worth buying a half day ticket.
Both runs are short & easy - but:
1. Are a lot better than Xscape.
2. A few free turns on arrival day would be a bonus in my book.

bitoffluff, yes there are lots of Snowheads going on the ItS courses. So you are on All Mountain Level 4 on 13th Dec? You will be in Beverley's group then maybe.
Were the other things you were looking at no good then? i.e the over New Year thing? Personally I think you will get loads more out of going on a ski course than the other options.

mountainaddict, Thanks for this info. I don't have a piste map here, but could you give me an idea as to whereabout these 2 free lifts are? Particularly the one in Le Lac as that's where our chalet is.
Having had to get up at 2.00am in order to make check-in time at Gatwick, a free short run maybe all I am capable of!

There are free lifts at either side of the main village in Le Lac at the very bottom of Trolles - Lavachet and Rosset
