On the subject of wind again I noticed the new lift Gauxjoch was closed as well on the other side, when it was a T Bar I don’t think it was affected.

Sleet/wet snow/rain mixed with snow at 939m this morning but it sure is dumping higher up.
Powder on the pistes.

Still way too warm at about 1000m, you can see where the rain damaged the snow pack last night as the fields next to the pistes are showing through.
Needs to get much colder again so hopefully Feb will be a cold month.
Lots of deep fresh snow up high though, down black 112 in Ski Welt it was up to my shins but a bit heavy going due to the temperature.

@Baron von chippy, every time it’s been one chap yes but I’m told he is off this week so it’s going to be someone else this time. I’m not bothered who it is really they are all locals so know the area well.
It’s weather dependent so they are going to call me tomorrow night to confirm.

Nice afternoon in Kitzbuhel where it was a bit colder.
They opened Pengelstein sometime after midday and it was soon tracked out. I managed to get some nice freshies of the right consistency as a lot of the new snow off piste was a bit on the heavy side by the afternoon like skiing through fresh cement.
Here’s a photo of the nice bit I skied.

Went over to Pass Thurn this morning and there was some nice off piste untracked that was in good condition. Not fluffy powder but very enjoyable none the less.
Still quite a lot of crust from the wind/sun so you need to be choosy where looks good.

@Baron von chippy, looks like it was around 1200m at a push as it was raining at 939m last night.
Yesterday afternoon they called and cancelled the free riding for today because the snow isn’t very nice, it’s been too warm so there was no point really coughing up all that money (and I’d need to buy a day pass)
As it turned out it was just as well as last night I was so sick all night from about 8pm. So today is a day in bed for me. I don’t think it’s a bug I’ve caught, seems most likely something I’ve eaten as I did start to turn around quite quickly once it was all gone!
My money is on kidney beans in a salad I had yesterday afternoon, I can’t think of anything else suspicious I had.
We will never know what it was but this is the first time I’ve been ill in Austria!

I caught Covid 3 and a halb weeks ago in fieberbrunn. Still ain't able to ride my bike or go to the gym yet for coughing

@Baron von chippy, oh really…sorry to hear that.
I only caught Covid once ages ago and it only lasted a day or so, I was lucky. I did feel quite tired for a week or two afterwards though.
Never had any gastro in Austria before.

Very different today with extremely busy slopes but superb skiing and this has been the best day this week. The road from Munich must have been busy judging from the car parks compared to earlier.
Next week forecast is sun every day but 2armer temperatures unfortunately

Fantastic conditions today, not a cloud and pistes were excellent even low down into Kirchberg. But, it was mega busy and car parks were full by 9:30

@Illetas, glad I stayed in bed a second day if it was mega busy. Sometimes it’s worth it just to make sure and I was really tired. Just been out for some fresh air and some proper food, had some noodle soup just to keep things simple.
Will go out skiing again tomorrow.

It was a good day - we were skiing from Pass Thurn and pistes were in excellent condition. No queues either!
