Ben Prorel, an instructor with Powder Extreme, is highly recommended.
Has both skied and boarded Bec des Rosses (55 deg and a no fall zone at the top) which is pretty cool! IIRC he was originally a skier, then rebelled at school and became a boarder, then took up skiing again to qualify as a top cert instructor in the french system, before moving to verbier.

@snowcrazy, as above Powder Extreme come highly recommended by several of us on here who have skied with them. All their instructors are good so don’t sweat Ben vs the others.

It started to snow about an hour ago (21:00) in La Tzoumaz, and is projected to peak at 03:00 and 11:00 tomorrow (Tues 28 Jan) with light snow through to Wed evening. The balcony temp here at 1500m is -0.9°C.

This being Verbier you will have to hike now to find any fresh stuff.
That being said the pistes are sublime, the accessible off piste is chopped but soft.
Chassoure was superb, soft and grippy snow on the moguls, very flattering.

How are the general conditions in Verbier? Did the recent precipitation fall as snow?

@alj, yes...snow, but not that much of it.
Pistes are 100% top-notch.
Offpiste? Its Verbier...anything easily accessible is tracked out, but there are always places if you are somebody who is willing to hike there (I'm not!).

@rungsp, will probably be skiing on Friday in case you’re around?
Forecast looks perfect for Fri/sat then getting warm Sunday and then cold again with decent snow and cold for a couple of days.

@BobinCH, just realised after your FWT post somewhere that Mar 27th is also the weekend for our regular lads weekend
Never been to one of those events, will it make a big difference to crowds using the slopes? and around town?....imagine there will be some extra apres ski laid on and we'll have to book any meals out in advance...

On the comp day it’s really busy getting up to Gentianes so all the lifts serving that are to be avoided (Medran, Chaux Express, Jumbo, Gentuanes) - good day to go up from Savoleyres or Mayentzet). Once youre up the pistes are usually quiet as lots of people watch the event (we do). Town will be busy especially the day of the event so good idea to book early. I also have my lads weekend that weekend so should heed my own advice to you!

Ping me closer to the date and I can give you some ski/food/après recommendations in case you’re interested. If the comp is on Friday or Saturday, the Sunday would be a perfect opportunity to ski the Bec, conditions allowing as the bootpack Will be solid and there’ll be markers into the harder to access routes

....will do, there's a big gang of us, mostly staying at Farinet, but a few locals joining too. So a split group - most of them just do a long weekend every year, ie piste bashers.
I'll be up for some fresh off piste tracks if conditions are good....but am only going down routes that you would send your kids down
