Poster: A snowHead

Having done a couple of seasons cheffing now I would say tour operators will take any combination of any dietary dietary requirement providing it doesn't have vegan in it. I.e. no meat, no eggs, gluten free, lactose free etc. is fine, vegan a no-no! Ridic!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Cheffing looks wrong as a word, although right.

Easy solution Rent a self catering chalet in the Portes du Soleil area and use a good catering company like More2Love, Chez Toi or Chalet Chefs. They will tailor the menu for you at a surprisingly affordable price particularly if you can avoid school holidays.

People can eat as they wish - I would never criticise anyone for simply sticking to what they know works for them. My two chalet trips put me off the whole thing for life. I'd always prefer to self-cater, or hotel. I know some people adore the chalet shared experience, but it isn't for everyone. So how about trying a self-catered apartment? It doesn't preclude everyone else doing the chalet thing and you joining them after dinner .... Most resort agencies have plenty of apartments to choose from. You may even find people prefer to come 'round to your place ......

Why not just do what you would do on your summer hols! At the end of the day if you can't cope with someone you don't know cooking for you then self cater! Better off keeping the stress levels at a minimum whilst on a ski holiday!

Hahaha...
I had to read this again for my own selfish entertainment.
We'be booked a half board holiday to claviere... over New Year. He still eats only meat and potatoes and anything beige made by birds eye..I'm sensing we might have problems.

Kids meals but adult portions. I would also make him eat with the kids but for the effect it might have on them.

Choose an independent chalet operator with a track record of catering for dietary requirements. Tell them up front what your other half eats and you should be fine.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@chaletcompanyconfidential, she is resurrecting her 2 year old thread...I suspect she is sorted

This type of fussy eating is actually a 'condition' that quite a few people suffer with. It can be improved quite quickly with therapy (CBT) apparently. A good friend of mine is currently going through the same thing with her OH, sparked mainly from their first caterd chalet holiday experience.
