Its a numbers game and you're not going to get enough response from this site IMO. and you're lucky IMV to have two responses so far!. Why not draft a advertisement for a national newspaper under the personals columns stating your preferences which are indeed very specific. Then you filter out all the ones that are not acceptable not being " skiers ". At least you may get a decent response rate within a reasonable time. You could run the advert for say four weeks to give it time to work. Now tell me doe'nt that fulfill your criteria?.

Broaden your horizons. Don't limit yourself to your current locations.
Try something new - Salsa is a possibility, or go for wine clubs and book clubs. Worst case in these is that you'll get to try new wines and read books by new authors - and this will help in broadening your horizons!

If you stick in one place, then you're stuck. Change can be good.

Don't rule out something because it's not your normal routine. SQUAW

not to have commented on this thread and I've had a bad morning you're going to get both barrels. Evil or Very Mad

There are a number of possible reasons that this thread was created / posted and i'm going to offer my comments on them all.
1) You enjoy having created /maintained the longest threads on the site (my inference from a previous post) - if true then you have given a little fun to a few but unnecessarily sought and received well-meant advice from others (troll)
2) You enjoy receiving sympathy and empathy from others (your self-deprecating style on this thread (so different to other knowledgeable posts)) leads me to suggest that. Weird, but again a waste of others well-meant responses.
3) You are genuinely looking for a female skiing/'life' companion. If so ( and I acccept that is PROBABLY the reason for the thread) I would seriously make the following points.
a) This thread is doing you no favours whatsoever. Any female reading it all would not be impressed - and some folks are beginning to use it as a source of ridicule and criticsm. SOLUTION - You're a mod, can it, lock it but get it out of the public domain
b) You're looking in the wrong place! Others have already said it but this is a small community. Do the Maths - there are probably only a few 'available' ladies here and the likelihood of compatibility is negligible .Solution - Stop looking here!
c) You're wasting time - every post you make here and on snowHead

in general is taking you away from that task. Solution - restrict the time you spend here and mentally limit the number of posts/threads ( soory Admin for taking away a valued poster). I have no ideea if on-line dating works but if you are addicted to your PC - Try It.
d) Get off the computer and Get Out - Fact is Real People only meet in Real Places - Solution - Force yourself to get involved in clubs, interest groups and dating agencies , {have you offered your services at a ski slope or at Adult German classes?). As already said you'll get something out of it anyway.
e) Self-esteem . On this thread you appear to lack it (although not elsewhere). Solution - IF you do genuinely lack it - go and pay for some professional help - I am told it is very helpful and you have nothing ostensibly that you need to worry about.. It is unlikely this forum can build it up ( 'cos we'lll knock it down just as fast)
f) Set yourself some targets (I know it sound callous). Put dates to doing things differently, dates to join clubs, target numbers of 'dates' via agencies but most of all COMMIT yourself to a positive oucome and keep focused on it.
g) Stop worrying about 'Adonis' and the like. There are few and , Ask the Ladies - they're not high on their list of needs in a partner.
h)Wengen v Woman ( and please not that we have all been decent enough not to state the obvious on the 'Resort Nicknames' thread.) - Seems like a major part of the problem. You have to ask yourself which in the longer term is more important. If it is Wengen then a female life partner may just not come your way ( although you should question your sexuality). Solution - Ski somewhere else this year TOTALLY different - maybe even try PDB or EOSB or ESA - probably will not find a mate but at least it would break the repitition and introduce you to different ways of doing things

Sorry if this seems harsh. It IS MEANT to be constructive . Others have tried the 'cuddly' and 'sensible' routes so just trying to hit you harder. No need to reply - just think on it and dicuss what you should do with paople you TRUST .... PS - I have never had trouble finding partners - but WHEN you find your ideal please don't come to me for advice as I'm crap at keeping them Evil or Very Mad

Well taking everyones advice to heart I did go out this evening to the local dry slope where you can get 2 hours tuition for £12.50 no young ladies present, but it's early yet, only slight problem is that my feet are now killing me, I can hardly walk on them now Shocked

Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

I never got the impression that DGO had any problem with general socialising, just meeting suitable ladies? If so, then a dry ski slope is hardly likely to be choca with single girls. IMHO there isn't much point in going out to somewhere that's similar to places that he's already been to, I would suggest that DGO needs to go to new places, where single gals tend to go, and as such are likely to be outside his comfort zone. The more that he does this, the easier that it gets.

If he was looking for a whole room of single women, we couldve sent him to a friday night out in the local Slag and Leg-it in Bournemouth and had done with it, HOWEVER, this was the more subtle approach of increasing the social circle and meeting more people that way. rolling eyes

I would also make the point that it is useless increasing your social circle if it is made up of married couples with children, and other single men, if you're looking to find a partner.

Although I realise that this is easier said than done, since I'm always trying to find out what all the decent single men do in my area - which seems to be nothing!
