Chris Brookes, actually they will start to drop after the 15th, approaching freezing on the 17th then rise slightly until arround the 21st before dropping again arround the 25th, all the time from now on the average weekly temperature will drop a few degrees each week, hopefully by november it will be sufficiently low that any precipitation in the area will fall as snow

snowchic, last time I checked the Inferno race was run in January and there was certainly snow then, but you know that, I suggest that you escape Wengen until mid December if possible as it's going to be dead until then, other than that I think you will have to wait until November at the earliest for there to be any serious amount of snow in Wengen and to be honest it's quite likely not to get any good snow till December, sorry , by the way, I'm guessing that you are working there and since not many places are open in October I'll have a guess at somewhere like Chillis ?, Oh and you don't need to go up to Jungfraujoch for snow, I'm pretty certain there's still some at Eigergletscher

Hi everyone.
Happiness now reigns in the Taylor household. Just booked week in early January and a week at end of Feb/beginning March, at the Alpenrose. All is well with the world (if you can ignore reality that is).It may sound self indulgent but roll on early 2006.

Bern's very pretty for a capital city, but it is very buisness centered so I'm not surprised that they're so quiet.
As for the conscriptsI once got on a train where about 30 of them were busy cleaning their weapons including the chap with the squad machine gun, intrestingly they had all spread their newspapers on the tables to stop any damage to the train

It was a website, www.fasttrackski.co.uk
It seemed cheap, advertised at the price flying from Manchester, when we'd agreed to book, we were then told it was £26 each Flight Supp from Manchester, then they wanted 2% for credit card or 1% for debit card, PLUS £10 booking fee. Then when we'd agreed to all that, they then told us that the deal meant that everyone travelling HAD to buy a liftpass from them there and then. We have a few non-skiers going with us, AND they wanted about 35 quid more than we could buy the pass for in resort.
Needless to say, we told them to stick it.
Now we are going for 8 days, flying Liverpool - Basle (no 3 hour checkins, plus not having to get to Manchester and back), getting the train from Basle airport straight to Zermatt, and 8 days B&B in a lovely looking hotel http://www.reconline.ch/romantica/ for about £410!!!

Charlatanefc, ouch That sounds suspisiously close to being illegal when it comes to the lift passes they can get a discount by purchasing in multiples of 10 charging more for the pass might really upset the locals
