Poster: A snowHead

Just looking at dates for next year. Is the Birthday Bash always very early February?
We probably need to get the kids settled in school for the year before going away so mid Feb or later would be our dates I think.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@sbooker, yes, consistently held first full week of February.
Any later and the challenges that come with school holidays and peak season in Europe have to be faced. Higher prices, extra traffic, busier pistes, etc.

So the crowds in the school holidays are usually very significant? We were pleasantly surprised at the relative lack of crowds even over the New Year week. La Thuile was particularly quiet but Cervinia was busy. Chamonix was not overly busy either.
By looking at the calendar for next year it looks like the best option would be to wait until the second week of March. We prefer cold winter type snow so somewhere high and north facing may be the best bet. @Alastair Pink,
I’m sure the Birthday Bash would be great fun but that week is just too early for us I’m afraid. It will be the kids second week of school and we’d prefer to get them well settled before heading off and handing the reigns over to the grandparents.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Tignes/Espace Killy would fit the bill
sbooker - massive, snow sure, high area & a great variety of slopes. Fantastic off piste too.

@sbooker, second week of March ideal and pretty much anywhere should be good then. You don't need to go particularly high.
