@noodlehat, just found this linked from another thread. Oh that is a shame. We had very good service and fitting from them previously. Hope this isn't a sign the good chaps we used before have moved on
One of the beauty's of having had good service previously is you don't need new boots too often!

@NickyJ,
I think they're okay still in the scheme of things. From what I've gathered I'm probably in 1 size too big if I wanted a performance fit for more challenging terrain or hard fast skiing.
But honestly they're perfectly okay for prob vast majority of recreational skiers. I've put about 60 days skiing on them this year and they've done me okay. I'll perhaps visit one of the 2 highly regarded shops for my next pair thou.

What is disappointing was we discussed in depth type of skiing to ensure which way to go on fit before trying stuff on! Sounds like didnt happen. Also I went back to them to talk about in soles to extend life of my boots when foot started sliding around (I phoned first) and they fitted me with an insole free of charge! Which gave me another couple of years before getting my latest boots. Was very impressed with that from them.

Apologies if this is a repeat question, I have tried searching but appropriately titled threads seem years old.
Can anyone recommend boot fitting service in the midlands? Have seen several recommendations for profeet and solutions for feet but they're both a fair distance from Nottingham.
Long story short, made the sin years ago of buying some boots online that were on offer, they've never been right, they pinch and I end up with numb toes very quickly. Time to get this problem sorted - hopefully! Do already have a pair of custom insoles.

Having just read the last 4 or 5 pages of this thread, I'm kinda hesitant to post this, but here goes...
Unusually I'm really happy with my boots fitted about 5 years ago at Gloucester Dry Slope. Atomic Hawk 100 Magna boots with Zipfit liners and custom insoles. Never had any issues with them at all. However I'm doing a lot more off piste skiing that includes some element of skinning to access the best terrain so need a boot that will fit into pin bindings (or shift bindings).
So I'm ending up hiring touring boots and skis, which is fine, but the boots just aren't as comfortable as my own ones, unsurpisingly. I want to get a pair of boots that have touring ability but I'm not bothered if they are really light weight as I'll still be using them for a lot of piste skiing too.
I guess the ideal situation would be to take the zipfit liners and custom footbeds out of my current boots and have them fitted into a new touring/freeride boot, but is that possible or advisable?
Keen not to have two sets of skis and boots to lug around so happy to take heavier boots and skis as the consequence as the only skinning I'll be doing is to access or exit an area.
I really don't care about brand or having the gear with the right number, I just want it to work for me 2 or 3 weeks each year on piste and off piste
Thoughts? Can I use the existing zipfit liners and footbeds, or a bad idea? If I can sort this before I go away end of Jan, that would be great, but happy to sort out in Tignes if not.

@dustytess, Plenty of hybrid boots around these days which would seem to suit your requirements. I use Atomic Hawx Prime XTD which are excellent for piste skiing and day tours. Definitely transfer the zip fits and footbeds and get a good boot fitter - you should be good to go .

@snowheid, thanks that's helpful. I'm sure this is covered elsewhere, but we are around Swindon (Wiltshire) area. Are there any recommended bootfitters relatively close by. Happy to travel but if someone is close, better still...

Can anyone recommend a good boot fitter in the East of England.
I can add a fit onto my work day in London but would prefer not to
