If I had money in Lech-Zürs, I doubt I would rate the proposed Grubenalpbahn as a high priority. Yes, it might make life easier for the people staying in that part of Oberlech, but how many it benefit compared to upgrading Seekopfbahn, Zürserseebahn, Schlegelkopf, etc?

@stanton, no I have not hiked up to Schindlergrat, there are better places to spend your time in summer (like riding my MTB across from St.Anton to Lago di Como later on this summer)

@stanton, Mountainbikes aren't for lazy folks, rather the opposite ime. Fixed wheel in the mountains is a non-starter unless you class riding in the valley bottom as riding in the mountains.....mountain bikes are for riding in the mountains, the clue is in the name. If you want to be lazy then I guess you ride an ebike in the mountains but I'm not opening that debate again hopefully, suffice to say that they do get you higher quicker and you can cover longer distances so in that regard I guess they serve a purpose but they aren't for me......if you can cycle say from town to Darmstattehuette and back down on your fixed wheel i'd be impressed, maybe you could post us a couple of photos from the hut having a beer with Andy and a progress photo on route, maybe one from Kartellsee i'd be keen to see how that looks right now. I'll keep an eye out for these in next few days/ weeks.

Anyone know what Helli is up to at Griabli, interesting that he's taken out the sunny terrace and appears to be digging down in the photo above. Thats a great place to spend a late afternoon in the sun with a beer, hope he reinstates it. Last couple of seasons Griabli has seemed like it needed something extra, we used to use it loads, last few times we've been in it didnt seem the same, hope they find a way of regenerating the atmosphere, we've had great times in there in the past, the fire has been a much welcome source of heat for thawing out and great food!
