More snow in Les Arcs, take a look at the web cams. Maybe it is cold enough for the snow to stay and start forming a base this time.
Remember, for the discount on '15 day and less' ski passes in Les Arcs/Paradiski you need to go online before the end of this month (October) if you want to save money. For season passes, right now the deadline is still end of November.
Check out the new Les Arcs webcams. Much better than last year. Hope they are all like this when they are working. Also here is the link to the La Plagne webcams. Just been loking and some of them are working fine. Snow down to around 2000m I would guess.

I use the Paradiski Zen ski pass and unless you are planning to ski exactly 15 days or the whole season, regardless of weather, then I suggest you have a look at that. It's 'pay to ski' with some nice features, one of which is that you can shift about amongst the various ski resorts covered including Tignes/Val D. If I feel like taking a day off – e.g. the Friday when too many people are “pounding out their last day trying to do some of the stuff that they previously would not risk but now it’s OK to attempt because they were heading off anyway” – then you lose nothing as you do not pay. You can also ski the whole of Paradiski when you feel like it so you are not forced to buy access for either the whole visit or individual days. It is not really an option if you are out for the whole season but otherwise it can make sense. I usually go for multiple trips at different times and my work often interferes with my plans so it really makes sense for me.

RattytheSnowRat, I agree the Paradiski Zen ski pass is a great option. A couple of the people I skied with last season used them for 10 days and saved money on the ski pass they would have bought. If I remember correctly, even with paying for the card in advance online which is very easy to set up, they still saved about 30 Euros each over the 10 days. Plus we went to Tignes and Meribel during the 10 days plus sometimes in La Plagne and Les Arcs on the same day. You simply pay for what you use. Worth checking it out if you want to be flexible as another option.
Here is the link.

Anyone any idea of whether they send passes out straight away - or do it later? We paid on 11th & nothing yet. Not panicking - but it was a lot of money, so just wondered.

Passes just arrived this p.m. - all the documentation + Carte Neige info (in English!) - very impressive have to say.

Ordered on Monday and arrived first thing today (Thursday). Just a shame I have to wait until January to use them, excellent service.

blawford,
I was in so much of a rush to get the correction about lack of receipt online that I was remiss in my lack of punctuation. Apologies. What I meant was: arrived with all the documentation, plus Carte Neige info which was in English. Being as insurance documents (& bear in mind this is 24 pages long!) are not known for their clarity - I was delighted that all the clauses & sub-clauses etc. etc. were actually in English!

The letter that came with the ski-passes also had a sort of sales slip (A4) - therefore 2 pages, showing address, amount paid etc. Letter referred to checking the numbers on ski passes with sales slip and making sure you take sales slip with you in case you lose ( have stolen etc ) the pass. Hope this helps - sorry to confuse things.

Really pissed though at the removal of the single link to the Les Arcs Webcams. Accessing them through the official website is just crap.

allanm, thanks, once they are all (or at least most) are working I will send you the links for you to play around with. When are you coming out? |
Broke tib and fib, end of August - waterskiing accident, although walking again, I'm not sure skiing will be 'sensible' until later in the season.
Not sure if it will be Les Arcs this year.....too much has changed.
Yes, send me the links as and when...

allanm, Really sorry to hear your bad news. That was so unlucky. Hope you are able to get back on the skis as soon as possible. Let me know if you do come out so we can meet up, if only for a beer. Thanks for still offering to sort out the webcam links. I will send you the new ones once they all start working.
For anyone following the beginning of winter in Les Arcs. I was just looking at the webcams and it is snowing again, although it does look quite wet. Still not bad for the start of November. Only another month to go!!

Has anyone else renewed their pass from last winter? I renewed my season pass for the first time ever this year, entering the required code from the card on the website page, as well as buying a Carte Neige and all I received in the post was the Carte Neige and the invoice , with a bit of info about the insurance.
There was no mention about the Paradiski pass in the paperwork at all. Do I have to go to the lift pass office on my first day or should I assume that it has been recharged?
Thanks for your help!

Jon Ford, Liked the videos but - FYI - almost all of the bits of 1950 that you filmed have nothing to do with Radisson, they only handle a bit of 'Le Village' including the hotel but none of the commercial enterprises.
